Was in my local Apple Store and asked a member of staff for the second generation of the Beats Tours to be told they were unavailable which actually turned out to be an extreme saving. These earphones are half the price of the Beats and sound amazing, especially at high volumes when the bass really kicks in. Hit shuffle on my phone just after i got them and The Chain by Fleetwood Mac started, the vocals are unbelievably clear, the drums sound like they are next to you and the bass guitar thumps your ears! Definitely worth the price and they look like they are going to stand up for a few years at least!

    Brilliant Headphones

    • Written by from London

Simply put, these are fantastic headphones. The sound quality is amazing allowing me to hear nuances of sound that I hadn't been aware of before. The noise-isolating is excellent and means I don't have to turn up the volume full blast when listening on the tube, nor do others have to listen to what I am listening to either! The build quality is also excellent. All in all, I would expect to pay double or more for a set as good as these.

    Sadly not that good

    • Written by from Manchester

The Good: built to last - 3 years warranty.
The Bad: so called V-shaped sound:emphasis on bass and highs which can be harsh. Bass - of a higher frequency range means it is shallow most of the time - no real authority, depth-bass lacks soft end and speed. Harsh highs can make some tracks sound metallic.

These earbuds one of those that if not fit perfectly, it will loose 70% of bass.

Too truthful. Music source plays a big role: if bit rate and sound mastering are not up to scratch, it will not sound great.

Overall: reliable but don't expect the best sound.

It's exactly as it says on the box

I bought these earphones after RHA was recommended to me in a retail store and they are really amazing!
The sound is crisp and clean with no distortion, very well balanced and natural. These earphones just set a new standard for me.
The cable is completely tangle free, hold one end, drop the other one and off you go. :)
The overall build quality feels sturdy, after one month of use I can't see any wear and tear.
They keep well in my ear and very comfortable to wear them even for hours. Love the fact that I don't have to pick my phone out of my pocket when walking, the remote is very easy to use.
I've had quite a few earphones in the past, all from big consumer brands. Believe me, they don't even come close to this, you loose much of the details in the music.

One note: I prefer the nice and rich sound as I listen to a variety of genres but some might miss an extra kick from the bass.

I'm very happy with the value, got a pair of premium earphones way under the premium price and it also comes with three years of warranty.

    Top class in price range

I am a musician and over the past 5 years have owned several pairs of headphones both in ear and over ear, forever in search of the perfect sound. From Bowers and Wilkins P5's to Shure Se535's (which FYI I still own and are top drawer).

I read many reviews of many pairs of in ear headphones before deciding on these and was in the £50 - £100 bracket. The RHA brand had loads of very good/excellent reviews which seemed consistent across several different websites so I took the plunge last week, spending a bit less than I had been prepared to.

I was literally blown away by the sound that these things produced, I listen to different types of music from John Mayer, to the Foo Fighters to Electro such as Daft Punk and The Prodigy and I was not disappointed by any genre. The RHA's delivered rich, admittedly quite bass heavy, but otherwise totally balanced audio. In comparison to my Shure 535's which were about 5 x the price they hold up very well indeed!!

The build quality is excellent, the bundled earbuds in numerous sizes ensure that you will find a comfy and well sealed fit, and to top it off they're a UK brand.... My advice buy, buy, buy!

    Amazing !

These are the best earphones i have ever used. The sound quality is superb as well as being really comfortable. It comes with eight earbuds which is really useful and the carry case is really strong just a little bit too small for my liking. The noise cancellation is superb despite it being passive. But all in all i give these a 10/10 for everything. NO CONS at all

    Great sound, slightly unyieldy

    • Written by from København NV

I used to own a couple of 450is which were really good - until I lost them. Decided to try their slightly bigger "brother" and haven't regretted a thing.
I think they sound great, the buttons are easy to use and very clicky (that's a good thing), and the L-shaped jack is sturdy. I like the fact that the 600i comes with a boatload of earplugs, but actually, the ones that were mounted on the phones when they arrived fit perfectly.
The only thing that keeps the 600i from the 5th star is the fact that the cables are a bit too stiff and heavy. But it's a minor thing.

I also never write reviews, but unfortunately found this product too frustrating to suffer in silence...

I did really enjoy the sound of these earphones, but not enough to warrant any more than 1 star. That is because unless you use them exclusively while stationary, you'll find the most durable thing about this product to be the packaging in which they arrived.

I received these as a gift (which I personally chose) in December '13, and by April '14 they they had completely stopped emitting sound. Slowly, starting from the left bud and moving on to the right, the sound began to only work intermittently, and then stop entirely. I had to order a replacement soon after they had ceased to function (which to the credit of RHA, was quite a quick process), and alas, after about a month of usage of the new pair, the left ear bud decided that it only wanted to work part-time.

This is still the case at the time of writing this review and I am currently having to manipulate the wire with duct tape to (temporarily) enjoy a twin-ear experience. And although I used these fairly often for endeavours such as walking at an above average pace, and running*, I still don't think it's unfair to have expected a life span of more than 4 months for a product which was "Machined from solid, aircraft grade aluminium" and has "Dual insulated, oxygen-free copper cable with gold plated 90° connection".

If you are purchasing or have recently purchased a pair of these, I suggest you keep your proof of said purchase handy, you'll probably need it soon.

*Don't expect to be able utilise these while doing this activity. I found that the buds seem to be disinterested in staying within my ear when introduced to moisture or any sort of movement, despite trying every size of the array of ear buds supplied and the 'wrap it around your ear' technique described in the manual.

    Get these ones…!

    • Written by from Taunton

I wanted great sound, sturdy design and reliability. I've had them about 4 months now and i'm really pleased.

Sound: Great quality, a good balance of base and treble although I do find that if the volume is too low then some of the sound depth is lacking - understandable I guess. There is very little interference through the cable, which I have found an issue with other earphones.

Comfort: I tried a few of the ear buds and have found a good fit. They are comfortable and don't fall out. If I go walking/jogging I wear them in 'over ear' mode. I didn't think I would like wearing them like that but they are really comfy.

Functionality: I love good functional design and these, in my opinion, are a fine example. The best thing is the controller, it has a finger shaped segment cut out so you instantly know where the button is and can adjust the volume by rolling the cylindrical control in your fingers. The left earphone has a small bobble near the cable connection, so you know left from right. The cable is really study rarely gets tangled, even when I get them out of the storage case. The case is rather over engineered and I find it bulky. (I am used to the lovely leather pouch my previous Bang and Olfsen A3i' headphones came in, shame they broke prematurely).

In summary, if you want great sound, comfort, durability (they are not the lightest on offer) and intuitive design, you can't go wrong with them.

    Well worth the money!!

Firstly I just want to say how fantastic these earphones are!
I was stood in my local Apple store trying to choose between the MA450i and these, in the end I decided to spend the extra twenty quid and get these. Having read some reviews about the 450i and problems with the woven chord, I am pleased I went for these as the extra layer of insulation on these eliminates any noise from the cable.
The sound quality is fantastic right across the range. Although I have noticed that to get the best bass, you need a good fitting ear bud (probably why they give you so many!)
The build quality is a really nice bonus too, the aluminium gives them a luxury feel. Plus the three year RHA warranty gives some extra reassurance!

    No other choice!

RHA are an English company producing some of the very best sounding in-ear headphones on the market. They are balanced, clear and crisp which is how music should be heard; not pumped full of bass and over emphasized like so many other supposedly 'good' headphones on the market do! I've had 10s of pairs of different headphones over the years and I can happily say that the RHA MA600i are superb. There are no other brands out there that deliver this quality of sound and engineering at this price!

Forget your over-sold and over hyped Beats by Dre, and buy some headphones that actually play your music as it was supposed to be heard!

My Senheiser headphones were great until they stopped working. I would've definitely swapped them for the same but the Apple Store no longer stock them. I decided on the RHA MA600i. The sound quality is pretty good for the price. My biggest issue though is the remote control. I assumed that any headphones purchased from the Apple Store would be compatible with all iPhones. Especially because this is what a lot of people will use headphones with. Once I opened them and checked out the sound quality I realised the remote control is not compatible with the iPhone 5s. It seems quite strange that the Apple Store would stock headphones that wouldn't be compatible with the latest 3 iPhone models. Also if the Apple Store could maybe ask customers what device they would be using the headphones with and check compatibility it would really help.

Originally bought these a little over a year ago, have now officially since yesterday, been given a refund by apple as I've had to have 3 replacements every 3 months. Despite taking care of them and putting them in the case, after a while the wiring inside becomes loose so the audio is lost in one ear. I understand sometimes there is manufacturing fault so you may get the odd dodgy pair of earphones but after my third replacement arrived and the same thing happened again, I lost my patience. When these earphones work, the sound quality is amazing - however, this evidently only last a few months so isn't worth the purchase. I hate writing bad reviews, especially for British products but these are truly awful, sorry.

i've tried all the earbuds and can't find any to sit in my ear properly.

    dont bother

i never write reviews but did feel the need for this product. The first pair i bought broke within one day, the sound was only going to one earpiece. This was definitely the headphone as i tried it with multiple devices. Apple happily replaced them for another pair. Which now a month later have done exactly the same thing. Dont waste your money on these you are better off with a 5 pound pair because im sure they dont break as much.

    Cable weak spot

    • Written by from Leeds

I have owned these for less than 6 weeks. The cable has broken at the point it joins the remote which appears to be a weak point in an otherwise really well made product. The remote is glued closed at each end and this glue has perished, the cable has come loose and the connection is now broken leaving no sound in the right bud. Before this happened I was really starting to love these... Initially I thought the sound was lacking warmth and bass but as I adapted to them and they burnt in I found myself loving them... Not too bass heavy at all, as some have suggested. The silicon tips are also the best designed I have come across... They never once came off... A first for any in ear I have had... The cable is also reassuringly well made... But I would advise anyone against purchase of the version of this headphone with the remote because this certainly feels like a fragile afterthought meaning these phones are not fit for purpose and are likely to break under completely normal use

    Really disappointing

    • Written by from London

I bought these on the strength of the reviews here but am thoroughly confused as to how anyone could think that they sound good. The bass is brilliant but mid and high range are almost entirely absent, making everything sound really muffled. They're very comfortable and seem to be well made but there's no way I could live with them. The UE 400vi in-ears are £10 less and sound approximately 8 million times better.
