This white plug-in-plug adapter is a very simple gadget to set up. Previous experience with these WiFi enabled things has been patchy, but this was incredibly easy. Plug it in, press the button and then configure the WeMo through the easy to use App. Simple. I was expecting a tricky part, but there wasn't one.

If you are keen to explore further, you can set rules from the App itself and activate, or deactivate them remotely, simply switch it on and off remotely, or if you are really adventurous, you can register for "If This Then That" which is a web-based system which enables you to link the WeMo to external "Actions", like a website reporting that the sun is setting in your area, or that the temperature will be below zero that day...

Unbelievably simple, and the possibilities are almost endless.

This switch gives complete remote control of electrical appliances. I bought this switch so I could remotely control the light in the front room so not to return to a dark house in the evening. Works perfectly and have now though of many more uses: electric blanket, slow cooker, room heater. This is a revolutionary idea and Belkin has done it right. It is a little bulky but no more than any other timer. Well done.
