Poor durability – not built to last.

    • Written by from Jakarta

These are simply not built to last. I am on my second pair in 1 year, and my current pair has already experienced the same problem as the first: The jack is so fundamentally flimsy, that after basic, in-pocket commuter use, it shorts out and only works when you bend it in certain positions. Not a problem if the earphones came with replacement cables like the Shure models, but alas, the whole thing is useless once the jack stops functioning. I have a friend who is on his third pair for the very same reason, so this isn't an isolated incident.

I can vouch for the sound quality, it's very good given the entry-level price on these things. Aesthetically I'm a huge fan of the concentric circle design, and the black on gold look. Definitely very eye-catching. However, I can't possibly recommend these given the very basic durability concerns of the product. Like more and more things coming out these days, it appears intentionally made for very short term use.

    Bad earphones

    • Written by from Coventry

So first off presentation i have got to say i was really impressed with how when you open the box the earphones lift out towards you other than that i was disappointed.

These earphones are huge definitely not a good look. Then the way they feel in your ear they don't feel as though they are going to stay in.

The build quality is all plastic also and for £50 i would expect a light weight metal earphone.

i have to say the only other good thing i found was the aux jack which is a right angle design perfect to stop your wire from snapping while in your pocket but it also has metal and a metal spring on it to stop the wire from flexing so i should expect these to last for a long time.

wouldn't recommend in my opinion but may suit people with bigger ears that complements the larger design.

    Good but vulnerable

Sound is nice. Design is nice. If you're into the special in-ear design it has, go for it.
But - apparently it has an issue with the minijack where it has a loose connection. After a month or two, the sound only works when the minijack is held in certain ways. After 2 replacements I gave up.
Don't buy if you use it on the go. As most do with a headset.

I bought mine about a year and a half ago.
I'm a very careful user. eg my ipod (5 years old) doesn't have a scratch on it.

After 1 year the "gold" cover on the back side of one side fell down, I could see how bad the glue was.
Few weeks ago the left earphone stopped working! I contacted Marshall but all they said was that it is out of Warranty and I can pay for repair in a local store or get new earphones. BAD SERVICE for really CHEAP BAD EARPHONES.

I'm still going to use their amps, but their earphones are highly overrated.
Really cheap design (although it looks pretty decent in the pics).

Regarding the sound- it is not much better than any other Earbuds, but once you find the correct size of the top of the earphone (that goes to the top part of your ear) you can easily use it. before hand it's just really painful.

I wouldn't recommend any of my mates to buy those.

Another good quality pair of Marshall earphones, though take a little getting used too.

    The brand doesn't lie...

    • Written by from Jakarta

I've tried many...and I say many headphones/ earphones of different brands in the past since i had almost 9 or so brands in my home.

When I heard Marshall had released their "Major/ Minor FX" lines, I tried them immediately. I have to say that this piece is way up there compared to other brands. The sound details, and also the looks of this item has the class of it's own.

Like I said earlier, "The brand and it's history as a master of sound doesn't lie to it's customers"....

Please buy a different pair of earphones

    • Written by from Southampton

The day I received these I had to send them back because a pair of sennheiser earphones that cost £20 beat them on every level. I was so angry. I noticed how bad they were when I listened to 'Clique' by Kanye and a few others and as bass comes in it totally distorts it. It was like listening to a very old radio try and handle bass. So dissappointed and I'm definitely not going to buy Marshall again.
