Good sound but no good for Siri - can't hear a word you say as the mic is on the ear pieces

    Not overly impressed

    • Written by from HOUNSLOW

Not overly impressed with these headphones as I don't feel they sit in my ears that well. The quality of the music is good, but sometimes cuts out for 1 second, even if the phone is in your hand.
Battery lasts 7 hours which is decent. However, I think my next pair of headphones will be in-ear ones.

    What Happened?

    • Written by from New Haven

I love this headset. But the issue is, my iPhone 5s won't take any calls from it. It plays music just fine but that was not the only reason I purchased them. I hope the is just a technicality and a bug fix will do the trick. It worked awesome with my other iPhones so this is just strange.

    Bad Bluetooth signal

    • Written by from Klampenborg

I have experienced the signal dropped all the time with my iPhone 5 in my pocket. I had them replaced twice hoping it was just a faulty set however same problem is the same.
In the car, I cannot have a conversation because of the bad bluetooth signal.
Indoor the signal is fine. :-)

    Excellent (but not in-ear)

    • Written by from BASINGSTOKE

Bought these in the local Apple store as I was fed up with wires breaking on headphones. As others have said the sound quality is excellent and they work extremely well, but they'll not be for everyone. They're not in-ear headphones so they'll not block out all the noise around you. Personally I like that, if I want complete isolation I have some HF3s with custom sleeves, but when I'm walking around town or walking the dogs I want to hear what's going on around me as well as listening to music. These are perfect for that.

Battery life is good - does me for a day without problems. The controls, are nicely laid out. Especially the buttons for Play/Pause and taking Calls which are large and on the outside of the ear so it's very easy to hit them if you need to.

I find them comfortable and easy to wear. A nice touch is that when you pause the music, they automatically go to Open Mic so you can hear what's going on around you very clearly.

I'm using them on a iPhone 4S and they work perfectly well. Occasional stutter on the music, but that's partly to do with the Bluetooth standard when it has to channel hop in a noisey EM environment. It certainly doesn't happen often enough to bother me.

Cons: The only ones I can think of is that they are very obvious when your wearing them.

    Great Headset

    • Written by from Aylesbury

Had a set of these for around two years and used them about 4 times a week in the gym or out running. Fully charged they last about 5 hours and range of Bluetooth with iPhone was that good I could leave phone on shelf in the gym and workout without connection dropping.

After two years of hard use (sweat, being dropped etc) the on/off button gave up so replaced with a new set of the same make and model...

    Works with MBP as well

    • Written by from Kirkby-in-Ashfield

I got these headphones for Xmas. Primarily for use with my MBP. I do a lot of concalls, and video calls, and wanted something hands free and cable free. Plantronics couldn't say that they would work with the MBP, because they hadn't been tested. I'm please to report the work just dandy with iPhone4, iPAD2 and MBP...

Good for iPhone 4, iPad 3 - phone, music, movies

    • Written by from Larkhall

I use headphones mainly for listening to music and hands free phone calls in the car hence always go for sets with a mic / controls, and prefer wireless. For someone who is careful (picky) with their stuff I seem to go through headphones quickly - list as follows with probs:
    >> The Jabra Clipper bluetooth set - 6 months in, the female jack connection was intermittently cutting off one side; took it back to Apple store and at that time wasn't impressed with other wireless sets, so bought...
    >> Sennheiser i300 in-ear wired - good sound, had concerns over thin cable sets but this one seemed soft / pliable enough; within 6 months the wire insulation on one side split close to the earphone and no sound to that ear; next...
    >> Ultimate Ears 600Vi in-ear wired & over ear design - cable was a bit thicker than previous set and good, true sound; within 6 months the wire insulation on one side split close to the earphone, at the bend point over the ear; the insulation turns hard / less pliable in cold temperatures; and finally...
    >> Plantronics 903+ - was fed up with wires again and flimsy build quality; these are less discrete than in-ear sets but far more robust; good sound, easy connection / operation, switch to & from calls and music is good, love the voice at connection announcing listening time remaining, occasional brief drop out over bluetooth with iPhone in pocket then sound starts again; earplugs designed to rest in ear rather than a tight fit, bass and overall sound still good but I lose the bass end while motorway driving; would have given 5 stars otherwise.

Charging plug for headset comes with UK 3 pin & euro 2 pin adapters, headset LED is clever - indicates low power, when fully charged, and a number of other things. Works well with iPhone 4 voice control; mic is on the left ear, no feedback, very clear for the caller on the phone. Watched a movie on the iPad, works great, pause button pauses the movie too.

    Flawed genius

    • Written by from BARNSLEY

I've had these for a few weeks now. The biggest issue I have with them is that the ear buds are not comfortable and just sort of aim a nozzle into your ears with no seal at all. I've got around this by butchering a pair of Sennheiser earbuds to get the bud mounting lugs, supergluing these to the Plantronics and fitting some sound isolating buds instead. If these had come like that as standard I'd give them a 5 star rating. With my modification, the sound is really good and they're really comfortable.

On the plus side, battery life is as advertised, they're easy to pair, quick to reconnect, easy to use and, if you can get a good seal in your ears, the sound quality is good. I just wish they'd given at least more than one earbud option (like many other manufacturers do). Not everyone's ears are the same!

Good quality headset for the gym

    • Written by from LONDON

I brought these six months ago, and they are still working great. I would give it five stars but I had to buy some deep in-ear buds and attach it to the ones supplied with it, now they stay in my ear giving solid sound. I must admit the signal has cut out on me, but only in the same locations. I do recommend these. Hope fully Planatronics will supply better ear plugs in the future.

    pleasantly surprised

    • Written by from Exeter

I just needed a new set today as normally any headphones last me up to six months and the wire always breaks by the plug of the cable...Which happened yesterday again... Today I went to the Apple shop, bought these, installed it over 1 minute on the bus and they are working fine :) I can't get my head around the earpieces yet as they seem to be impossible to put on but will get used to it.
On the whole, I am really happy that no more cables will snap or get tangled in...
I'm however unhappy that I hadn't come across them before spending at least £100 each year for new sets... I've tried them all... BEATS, INCASE, RHA or SONY all snapped so far and I started to think I'd give up on buying any headphones

As the title suggests, this headset is great indoors but the moment I went outside the signal dropped frequently. Had them replaced hoping it was just a faulty set however same problem with the second set.

the best bluetooth headset I used

After getting this headset I was impressed with sound quality (is better than Apple In-Ear
headphones or some other wired headphones) and is most comfortable from bluetooth headset and headphones I been using-I was wearing it 5 hours and durning it almost forgotten about having it on me...I love battery indicator on the iPhone and when you press power button durning listing it will say how much listening time you have left.

    Thoroughly recommened - and have

    • Written by from Milton Keynes

Bought these as a bluetooth headset for use in my car but also because I liked the idea of having wireless earphones.

Pros: I would find it very difficult to fault these. They're extremely user friendly and being relieved of wires is fantastic!

The sound quality is great for the music, much better than I expected. I have Bose QC3's and whilst the quality obviously isn't that good, they're much better than my sennheisers.

Bass boost is a good feature to have.

Calls are clear although a little weird not having a discernable mic to speak into.

The over-ear design is comfortable and stable although I'm sure not everyone will agree with this.

Really cool power indicator on iPhone.

Cons: Call quality could be better. I think this is the case with most bluetooth headsets but the person I called said although I was clear, I sounded a little robotic.

    excellent bluetooth headset

    • Written by from comber

got these to replace my second pair of faulty motorola s9 hd's, the sound quality from these is MUCH better than the motorola, the over the ear design with the cable around the back as opposed to the rigid design of the motorolas and most other bluetooth headsets also make this the most comfortable to wear.

so far ive used them in the gym and find the design much more practical than the rigid motorola's, this headset is so light you can very easily forget that your wearing it!

outdoors it keeps the signal much better than the s9's walking around with my iphone in my pocket they havent lost signal on me once.

they also appear to be much more sweat resistant than the s9's which is what caused so many of the faults with that headset.

would definitely recommend this headset to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced, great quality bluetooth headset!
