This is the most pathetic piece of video editing software that I have seen. Fails to perform even the basic tasks it claims to support and produces defective videos (e.g. trying to trim the video only trims audio and misaligns the Audio and Video in the remaining part).

Having produced such a piece of rubbish Apple has no justification to criticise Microsoft anymore; Even movie maker beats it.

If you need to convert camcorder high-definition AVCHD MOV files to work on other devices like a Sony Bravia TV, then this application can convert within seconds to the AVCHD MP4 format without re-compression, so no loss of video quality. You can even do simply trim , cut and merge edits before-hand, but a bit fiddly with the interface provided. When converting, simply choose standard MP4 format and advanced options, selecting pass-though for video. For audio, pass-though may work. but to work on the Sony TV, I needed to change the frequencey rate from 48Khz to 44Khz. Many other packages always re-compress the video which can take lengthy times especially on low-spec PC, so this application works a treat.

Rubbish. I bought this so that I could transfer some avi files taken on a compact camera to show on my iphone. It worked in that I managed to get them onto iTunes but they won't sync with the iphone so £20 wasted!

I can’t even rotate my QT videos with the Pro version; Windows Live Movie Maker is way better. Worst £20 I ever spent. Am I missing something?

I sometimes take short quicktime movies on my digital Panasonic still camera for sending short clips of my theatrical props to my customers, and I purchased QT Pro to edit the films, both to get rid of the bit at the beginning and end that is of no use, and also to reduce the size of file to make the movie small enough to email. It took me about two minutes after installing to edit and save a film to just what I want. Well worth £20 (Including vat). It saves me loads of time over using my DV camera and Widows Movie Maker.I will give it four stars for now, I may review it further later.

I needed to edit mpeg4 files. this was the cheapest thing I found. problems are that when you want to delete, cut, copy etc, you have to select where to do this. the problem with this it does't always delete at exactly the right place, even if you have the sliders in the right place! Present movie is great.

Very happy that Pro gave me a quick and easy solution to converting 3GP video files from a Sony Ericsson phone to mpeg4 files for use in Movie maker

I continue to use Quick Time because other people send me stuff in Quick Time format and I can't transfer it into a better format without buying the Quick Time upgrade. As I refuse to buy the Quick Time 7 Pro upgrade I am constantly bombarded with Quick Time spam asking me to buy this upgrade - annoying. As other reviewers have stated Quick Time is slow and limiting in its free format. Windows Movie Maker (free) is basic but so much better. "Quick Time" should be renamed Slow Time - to avoid confusion

I just want to save a video file and all I get is "do you want to buy now?" - I have bought this software TWICE and although it installs, my pc won't recognise it on actual playback use and so I can't save the file I want to upload to my facebook - How come they make it so easy to get and install, and yet, so hard to actually use where you need it? I loathe software programs which don't care about the end user beyond the credit card input page! Thanks Big Boys - one day your time will come!!!!

Absolutely dreadful. Can't do the obvious, can't seem to download straight into your Windows player (which is so much easier to use). Slow and clumsy, but also effects other programs on your pc.
