Can these speakers be used with the new ipod nano?
- Asked by Constance N from Denver
- 26-Nov-2010

Best Answer
Yes.
The new iPod nano, with larger screen has an industry-standard 3.5mm headphone jack. From the speaker page, I found this:
"Dual audio/USB cable for connecting to audio device and USB power source"
...which indicates they have a mutant cable included which has both a USB AND a 3.5mm headphone lead - USB strictly for charging them.- Answered by Justin B from Peterborough

Answer
No the magnets are very small and not strong enough. Don't sit them on your wallet though because they are strong enough to wipe the magnetic strip on your bank cards.

Best Answer
Not user replaceable. You may be able to get them replaced through iHome service but I suspect the cost of doing so may be prohibitive.

can I use them on the beach with my i phone or ipod tocuh only or has to be plugged in to eletrical outlet?

Best Answer
Enjoyed about 2 to 3 hrs of play-time with an i-pod during a beach trip last summer after having "charged" the speakers. The lite diode changes from "red" to "blue" when the battery is full, just check before you head out. I have also had the same experience playing for about 3 hrs off an i-pod when there was not a usb port in the hotel room.

Can I add these speakers to an airport express that is supporting another set of speakers by using only the usb cord?

Best Answer
I had the iHM77 Speakers which are pretty much the same, but the USB is not used for audio it is used only to recharge the speakers battery. The audio plug is the only way to hear music from whatever device you use it with.

I was thinking of using these as my laptop speakers. Would I just plug in both the USB and the audio jack into my Macbook to get it working?

Best Answer
I have the h77 speakers and I use them with my macbook to make the sound louder, they work really well. On mine you plug in both the usb and audio jack to make them work. The usb recharges the lithium batteries in the speakers.

Answer
It won't shake your home's foundation, but the bass on these speakers is good considering the size of the speakers.

Would this be good for watching movies, connected to my TV
I have my Macbook pro, and want too watch a movie, with a better sound. Better than built in speakers, when just watching, 7 feet away?

I'm sure they'd work, but my guess is you'd want more volume and oomph than these would provide. I have some Altec Lansings with built-in subs that I'm about to hook up to my LCD and I'm plenty sure they would be able to handle whatever it throws at them, but these are more for on-the-go listening.
