AnswerThe Elgato EyeTV DTT stick can only receive one channel at the time. To receive two channels at the same time, or reinforce the signal of one channel, one needs the Elgato EyeTV Diversity stick.

can you plug a regular aerial lead into the imac ?
i have sky multi-room which connects to five tvs. can i replace an old tv with the imac so it doubles as a computer and tv monitor ?

Best AnswerIf by regular aerial lead you mean a coaxial cable then you can plug that into the eyetv hybrid which then plugs into a USB socket on your mac. I use this system to use my iMac to watch Freeview digital channels, I don't have a regular tv.
However you talk about sky so I think you need a different elgato model for satellite tv- Answered by Daithi O

Will the Elgato EyeTV work with AT&T Uverse?
- Asked by Pat W from Ballwin
- 10-Feb-2010
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerYes, the EyeTV hardware will work with AT&T Uvese. You will be able to watch and record your programs on your Mac and import to your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.
The EyeTV app, does have some limitations with Uverse. While connected to YOUR wi-fi network, you can watch live TV via your iPhone, touch or iPad; however, Uverse ports will not support UPnP (UPnP - Universal Plug in Play) and therefore the 'watch on the go' options is not available.
Also, the Uverse STB must be on, in order to stream via portable devices. EyeTV cannot turn the Uverse STB on or off.- Answered by Corey B from Saint Louis

Will it work in Ireland and if it does what channels does it have

AnswerHi
I've just got the Elgato EyeTV Diversity and it works well with Saorview transmissions in the Dublin area.
I get the domestic channels from RTE and TV3 (RTE 1 & 2, TG4 and TV3) plus the extra digital channels (3e, RTE ONE +1, jr and News Now). Also all the terrestrial and DAB RTE radio channels.
If I was close enough to the border I'm sure I'd be able to pick up the full range of freeview channels too.
It is not on the Saorview approved list of devices but it does seem to work fine for me.- Answered by Michael C

Can the shows you record be saved to a network location to be shared with multiple macs?
- Asked by Kevin W from Fayetteville
- 29-Oct-2009
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerYes
You can store the files anywhere, you just need EYE TV to watch them in the original format, but you can save them off for your iPod or iTunes using the EYE TV features, in which case they are then fully transferable to any computer.
I record on a Mac Mini and store them on a networked Omega drive to access from the Mini or my iMac- Answered by Paul F

Is there any way to hook this up wirelessly, since the TV is far from my computer?
I would like to be able to connect wirelessly through the airport if possible--is there any way this can be done?

Best AnswerSorry, there's not. The EyeTV device connects to your Mac via USB and the signal source (either antenna or cable) has to be connected directly to the EyeTV.

does this product have Roxio Toast Basic DVD burning software?
- Asked by Gary C from Abbotsford
- 13-Nov-2009
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerIt doesn't include it - but it works with it - see following from Overview description on Apple store:
"EyeTV integrates seamlessly with Roxio’s Toast® 8 Titanium (NOT INCLUDED). To burn a DVD, simply select the recordings in EyeTV and click the Toast button – that’s all there is to it. You can also create a perfect back-up by dragging the recordings you’d like to backup from EyeTV directly into Toast’s data panel. Toast will span the data across multiple discs if necessary."- Answered by Valerie H from Lucan

So I'm not quite sure how this product works. Can Someone please explain more elaborately?

AnswerThis is basically a "Set Top Box" for your computer.
You plug in your aerial into the EYETV and then connect EYETV to your mac via USB.
This unit will encode the TV signals for your macintosh to take the load of your computer's processors (meaning, not slowing your computer down).
You can also record TV straight to your mac :)
This also comes with a breakout cable so you can connect an external device such as VCR player, PS3, XBOX 360 or Video Camera etc.
It'll also let you convert your recorded TV sessions for you iPhone or iPod or Apple TV.
Hope this helps! :)- Answered by Sam W from Newcastle

can you use your macbook while displaying eyetv on another monitor
Is there a way to display the TV portion on one monitor while using the MAC book to do school work? :)
- Asked by Rose B from Acton
- 20-Dec-2009
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerYes,
I have a macbook 13" and occasionally use an external monitor. You can put the tv screen on the external display and still have the macbook screen for computer use. However, expect some slow down b/c the Hybrid rely on the computer CPU to do most of the signal conversion. Nothing to worry for some word processing, web browsing or responding to Emails.

Will this product allow me to watch Freeview HD channels?
- Asked by Minesh P
- 26-Apr-2010
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerNG from Harlow is actually correct this product cannot receive Freeview HD (Terrestrial HD in the UK).
It can receive HDTV in many other european countries which use standard DVB-T for both HD and SD transmission, in the UK terrestrial HD is broadcast using the newer and more efficient DVB-T2 standard.
If you wish to watch/record HDTV you need to buy a satellite option until the DVB-T2 products become available.- Answered by Richard G from Manchester

Answer
Since Ipad does not have a USB port, eyetv hybrid does not work directly with an Ipad. However, if you connect it to your desktop and download a paid app called eyeTV from app store, you are able to watch live tv which is playing on your desktop onto your iPad. However, the app is not reliable as you can see from the comments on App store.
