The latest ipad, charging jack is smaller. So, ipad smart case is ok?

Yes I have the iPad 4 and the hole is a bit bigger but the jack still fits so the answer to your Question is yes

Smart Case protects the whole iPad, while as the Smart Cover only protects the screen. I have both, and i love my Smart Case

Can you clean the case?
So, on one side of the cover there is a fabric like material, and it gets dirty( stains, eyeshadow, makeup, pencil, etc.) Can you clean it? If so, how? If it gets wet will it stain?

You can clean it with soap and water and a TOOTHBRUSH gently then brush dry with a dry cloth towel.

are there magnets on the back cover to hold the front in place when folded?

Yes, the case does not protect the screen while it is being used, so if you want to protect the screen while you are using it then you need a screen protector.

Do you mean just an regular case. If so the difference is the magnetic strips in the cover that let you shape the case and stand it up. The magnets lock the screen when you close the case.

There are rocker buttons for that. Basically, what I'm saying is that although those buttons are covered by material, there are indentations that allow you to adjust the volume while the smart case is on.

No it actually doesn't unfortunately. They only come in polyurethane. However I really do like the Smart Cover on mine. I was actually looking for one too. There is a dark gray and light gray cover. There is no leather or black cover though.
