I bought a 15" Mac Book Pro in the U.S. but I live in the UK, will this power cable fit my Mac?

Answer
The power adapter will fit your mac however it will not fit the UK style wall plug. So I suggest that you buy the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit which comes with one UK power adapter that slides onto your MagSafe power adapter.

Answer
No it will not work. This magsafe adapter is for the Macbook series. You need the "Extra Portable Power Adapter - 65W (for iBook & PowerBook)"
Do a search for Adapters in the Apple Store and you will see it.- Answered by Donna E from Auburn

the 60W magsafe power adapter that came with my late 2009 13" macbook pro gets extremely hot to the touch while charging. does it need to be replaced?
- Asked by Pamela W from Long Beach

Answer
It depends on what type of applications you are running at the time, such as Final Cut Pro or Safari.
When your computer is running big applications such as Final Cut Pro, you will notice your computer will need more power to do more tasks and therefor your MagSafe power adapter may get warm/hot.
If you are using a less mighty application such as Safari, your MagSafe power adapter should NOT get hot. If it does get hot/burning; I would replace it, especially if it has been mistreated before.
Hope this helps.- Answered by Matthew S from Prince George

Answer
Each part i.e. the bit that plus into the mac and the bit that plugs into the power socket is about 6ft I reckon (assuming you've got the extended plug cord), so more than enough for most situations.

Is the new version of the 85w MagSafe Power Adapter for the Macbook Pro compatible with the 2006 version of the Macbook Pro?

Best Answer
No. It is not compatible. The newer metal grey MagSafe connector which has the cable in line with the body of the connector is slightly smaller than the older white plastic MagSafe connector where the cable sticks out at 90 degrees. Make sure you buy the same type as the original adaptor that came with your Mac. Use part number MA938B for the old-style adaptor.

yeah I have a set of different detachable plugs for mine. You just slip off the US plug, and attach the the plug you need. Search the apple store for "Apple World Travel Adapter Kit" should have just what you need. :)
