Does an iPad 2 purchased in the US need a current converter, or only a plug adapter for use in Europe? THANKS

Best AnswerYou will not need a converter for your iPad 2. However, depending on where you go in Europe, you may need an adapter. The iPad 2 (like most Apple products) will work worldwide without the use of a converter... but may need an adapter, depending on where you are.

Why do I need to buy a World Travel Adapter kit at all? Won't the adapters that come with the Apple device be sufficient with the appropriate plug?
We're going to New Zealand and trying to figure out what we need to charge our iPhone 5 and 3rd generation iPad when we're there. The adapters that came with both devices cover 100-240V - 50/60 Hz.

I have a Macbook Air 13" and I am going to New Zealand and Australia. What do I need to buy for electrical differences?
i own a Radio Shack voltage converter which has a 50W and 1600W setting. I am not good with voltage conversion and electrical outlet adapters stuff. I have an adapter that has the two angled prongs. I just want to know what to do with my Macbook Air so I don't fry it. I was also wondering if there is a converter build into my power cord?

Will this kit work in South Africa?
From what I can gather, South Africa has some plugs that are similar to India's and some that are type M, something unique to Southern Africa. Anyone been to South Africa and tried this out?

Best AnswerSo, actually, after spending seven months in South Africa, I can now answer my own question. And the answer is actually no. South Africa uses a plug unique to Southern Africa that is incompatible with any of the plugs sold in the World Travel Adapter Kit. You need to buy an additional plug adapter or, alternatively, you can purchase a plug adapter from Apple in South Africa that will plug right into your AC adapter.

Will my IPAD2 purchased in the USA require a electric current converter if used in India? If the answer is "No, not necessary" please explain

Best AnswerYou do not need a current convertor as the 10W USB Power Adapter that is included with the iPad (1 and 2) will accept 100-240 volts.
You will however need a plug adapter to be able to plug the North American plug into the Indian style power socket.- Answered by Scott S from Dewittville

Best AnswerIt will charge the iPad (slowly) if it's not in use and the screen is off. The iPhone charger is 5 watts and the iPad requires 10 watts for fast charging.

Best AnswerNo- use the charger that came with you Ipad2 You just need to get a travel wall-plug adapter that has a female US flat prong socket for your charger and a euro male plug (cylindrical prongs) for the outlets in Europe They are sold at Radio Shack, Fry's, etc. The Apple charger works from 110 to 240 volts and either 60hz (US) or 50 (Europe and elsewhere). Don't use the adapter for items that are for 120 volts only. You'll fry them! You need a voltage transformer/converter for them!

Best AnswerHi there,
The short answer is, which will save you a few dollars, is that you do NOT need a converter to use your IPAD. You do however, need an adaptor, which thankfully is much cheaper than a converter. Most laptops, cellphones, IPADs, etc, are already dual-voltage wit the converter already "built-in" to the devices. In fact, you can check this on your device but as far as I'm aware, all Apple devices are dual voltage (110 and 220V). I am working in Israel as we speak, and use my IPOD and IPhone 4 here with the simple use of an adapter for each one.
Hope this helps!- Answered by Dave B from Barrie
