Can I use the Magic Mouse as a scanner (like the new LG)?
The new LG LSM-100 Mouse is also a Scanner. Does the Apple Magic Mouse work as a scanner also. If not, will the LG LSM-100 Mouse Scanner work with my iMac Desktop or Laptop. Both computers have OSX 10.6.8 (Leopard).

Can this mouse detect concurrent clicks?
The original Bluetooth Mighty Mouse couldn't detect right-clicks separately to left-clicks. This meant that there was no way to chord a simultaneous left- and right-click to perform a middle-click, and there was no ability to play games which might have had zoom on one button and fire on the other.
Has the Magic Mouse fixed this? Can separate clicks be detected separately?- Asked by Stuart S

Best AnswerNo, to right click you must still lift your left finger.

Is there a way to use the scroll in boot camp?
- Asked by Kay P from Orland Park
- 02-Nov-2009
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerNot currently. There may be an update coming soon for the Boot Camp drivers, but I wouldn't expect features like "momentum" or some gestures to work. Most probably, the mouse will only support left and right clicking. Even scroll is still unknown.

Any problems pairing with blue-tooth? I have had problems with other BT devices on my iMac.

Best AnswerWorks like a charm with Snow Leopard. Momentum scrolling doesn't work on Leopard. Everything else works. You need 10.5.8 with the respective Bluetooth update though. Look at the system requirements.

Best AnswerIt does work with Tiger but just as a regular mouse. I received mine today and works well as a click and drag mouse. Too bad gestures don't work but it's nice to be wireless again (lost my old one on a plane).

Best AnswerThe mouse does not yet (Nov 2009) work with Windows and will therefor not work on a HP computer. You will have to wait for drivers to be developed by Apple.

Can I use the Apple Magic mouse with the Apple keyboard with numeric keypad? Or do I have to use the Wireless keyboard?

Best AnswerNo you do not have to have the wireless keyboard. The Magic Mouse will simply connect to your Mac using Bluetooth, regardless of the keyboard you are using.

How good is the magic mouse's latency?
Every bluetooth mouse I have used in the past (both on OS X and Windows) had an annoyingly long latency. In other words, there's a small (but noticeable) delay between moving your mouse and seeing the cursor move, which gives the feeling that the cursor is struggling to keep up. I am wondering how good this mouse is in this respect.

Best AnswerActually, it seems to work just as fast as the macbook pro's trackpad.

Best AnswerIt is compatible with Windows PCs for the 2-button functions: left-click and right-click. However, at this time, gestures are not supported. Up-down, left-right scrolling and two-fingered swipes are not supported yet.

Best AnswerNo, each bluetooth device (by standard of design) will only interact with the device it was syncronized to, as each mouse has a unique bluetooth device serial id.

My magic mouse has been connected to my macbook for a while now, but it doesn't seem to have the scroll or any of the multi-touch functions.
- Asked by Gianne D from Sydney
- 17-Jan-2010

Best AnswerOk, I had this problem when I first set my MM on my macbook pro. What you need to do is click the apple logo on the top left of the screen on your Macbook or iMac and click software update. There should be a download that allows for the multi-touch surface to be activated (its only about 50 mb so it should download quickly) soon as it is downloaded the multi-touch surface should work

Does it track your hand if you put it on it or just the fingers?
- Asked by Ramin F
- 20-Oct-2009
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerWhilst it's top surface is capacitive touch enabled, this is ONLY used to recognise the gestures. Thus, you can NOT move cursors with the finger on the mouse's touch surface. You have to physically move the mouse to move the cursor.

How long am I to expect the battery for this to last?
I am a pretty frequent user and within 4 days the battery is 81% already. Is this normal?
- Asked by Faaiz K from Stockton-on-tees

Best AnswerMine lasted less than a month. I kept it on all day and only turned it off at night (that doesn't mean it was used all day though but I am a pretty heavy computer user). That's just from the batteries that came with it.
I have rechargables in now that have been in there for less than 2 days. They are at 69% (but rechargeables in my experience do not last as long as disposable batteries).- Answered by Alice C from Lynnwood
