Do the function keys and special buttons also work on windows computers. And... is the USB port full powered 2.0?
I'm a windows user. I know I need to buy a Mac guys (already got the iPhone =D) But is this lovely looking keyboard also full functional for Windows? I mean, can you use all the function/special/numeric Keys?
Also I'd like to know if the USB ports on the sides of the keyboard are full powered. If I'd connect my iPhone, would it be charged?
Thanks!- Asked by Sjoerd V

The keyboard USB ports ARE full powered DEPENDING on your mac. My Intel iMac gives full powered USB ports, but my wife's 12" G4 P-book only produces enough power to run a mouse and a some USB memory sticks.
This is sweet, you can plug a mouse into one side and keep the other one for easy access like USB memory, iPhone, card reader, etc... For even more ports, get a bluetooth mouse but keep the corded keyboard and you get 2 USB ports!
I believe that all the new intel Macs produce full powered USB ports, even the laptops, but you might want to double check on that.
As for the function buttons, they might work in Windows, but I haven't checked (my cheapie MS keyboard makes the F keys work, but not the multimedia keys -note: UNPLUG the keyboard before wiping it down!!).- Answered by Christian K from Cranbrook

What's the default behavior of the F7-F12 keys on Leopard OS? Function keys or Audio keys?
I have a Mac OS 10.5.8 (Leopard). I'd like to know the default behavior of the F7-F12 keys. I'd like to use it preferably to control volume, pause, next and prior the musics on iTunes without bother with any fn key combination.
Thanks in advance.- Asked by Marcio C from Aracaju

Answer
Holding down the Option key during startup will give you option of which available bootable device/drives to boot from. Holding down C key during starttup will boot into a bootable DVD. Else pre-set the startup drive/source in system preferences.

Answer
Rocky- Unfortunately the current Genuine Apple Keyboards tend to be incompatible with the older Mac OS and older (late model) Macintosh computers. The why part I believe to be related to the computer/keyboard firmware then the Mac OS of which must be able to "see" the keyboard.

LMP make a bluetooth numeric keypad which is designed to clip onto the end of the Apple keyboard. it is not made the same and has a hokey way of switching on the Apple keyboard (as it covers the on off switch when installed). On top of that it costs $60 so it would be cheaper to buy the $49 keyboard with keypad from Apple. There is a calculator with bluetooth which is intended to behave like the numeric keypad, again made by somebody else, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I want to order this British layout (£=shift 3 - NOT international English) but it's not listed in the drop-down menu. How can I order it?
NB "International English" has a # above the 3 on the keyboard, and is not the same layout as "British". I want the British version. If I click "add to basket" on this page, it adds the German version (which is listed first in the drop-down menu)...

I'm looking for the old keyboard that is not low profile. Any available?
I type at approximately 80 to 90wpm and go through 2 keyboards a year. I prefer the higher profile keyboard as opposed to the ultra thin, low profile keyboard. Where can I buy one?

Can I use this keyboard at work on a PC that is using Windows 7 Enterprise OS?
I love this keyboard and do not like the basic logictech keyboard that I am provided with at work. My company does not use Apple products; however, I would like to buy an Apple keyboard (wired with numeric keypad) and use it with my PC at work. Is this possible without having system adminstrator permissions on my PC?
