Does the Nike Fuelband measure steps or activity? Meaning, does it measure if you do other types of activity besides steps...like yoga or housework?

If you move your arms - or specially the arm with the band on - then yes, your effort is measured. It's not magical, it uses movement sensors. So walking will earn you points, but cycling won't - unless you wave your arms wildly when cycling :-)

Can the Nike+ Fuelband be used around an ankle to better monitor activity?
I've been reading good reviews on the current model, however I have been curious as to why Nike chose the wrist over the leg/ankle. As a competitor bodybuilding, I'm beginning my cardio stage and would enjoy improved tracking of my workouts. This doesn't seem helpful when arm movement is measured, especially on leg workouts, etc. I was considering the extra large model, but it does not state the diameter size. Does anyone know if this can be used on an ankle? Thanks!

According to the Technical specs ALL three sizes are 172 mm / 6.7 inches in circumference. Obviously an error somewhere... This is about my wrist size, so I doubt if even the extra large will go around an ankle.

On Nikes page, under FAQ, they state it's fine to shower with, just not recommended for swimming, surfing, etc.

How does it get the workout information from the Nike+ enabled treadmill at my YMCA?
I'm interested in getting the Nike+ Fuelband, but I want to know that the workout information generated by the Nike+ enabled treadmill at my gym can be transferred into the Fuelband.

Yes it can. You can do it through the settings when you plug the band into the computer (using the USB cable).

It's safe to wear the Nike+ FuelBand in the shower or when dancing in the rain. You should be able to rinse off without a worry. Please be sure the USB leads are dry before docking the FuelBand to your USB port.
Since it's not waterproof, it's not recommended for use while swimming (or other activities on the water- wakeboarding, surfing, etc.).
Your FuelBand should be rinsed thoroughly in fresh water after being exposed to salt water or chlorine.- Answered by Oiram P from Guymon

i've got my Nike+ fuelband 2 months now and its great! to answer ur question; No, u cannot swim with it. However, one can shower with it and have it on while washing ur hands.. just in case i do not recommend showering with the valuable fuelband :) enjoy- Answered by Bader A from Los Angeles

If you go to an Apple store, you can try on the different sizes there. Unless you have really little or really large wrists, most people go with the Medium/Large.
