The application requires a minimum of 2GB Ram and 8GB is recommended. Since Air has only 2GB or 4GB you would be on the low end and could experience slow operation for some actions. I personally use it on a MacBook Pro with 8GB Ram and a Mac Pro with dual processors and 32GB Ram, and there is a noticeable difference in speed between them particularly for some Photoshop actions when editing large files like RAW images that need a lot of memory.
I think Adobe has downloads but I don't suggest it for this since the files are about 10GB. If you go to an Apples store they could install for you at the Genius Bar using a USB Superdrive, that would be a lot faster.- Answered by C.b. K from North Hollywood

They are functionally identical. The only difference is the price and the fact that you need to be a student in order to qualify for the discounted price. You will need to use your edu email address or provide a report card, ID or other document to prove you are a current student.

Will it install on a Mac Air with SSD (no harddisc)
In the s/w req. section it says that it can't install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage. The MacAir has no harddisc only SSD - will this s/w install ?

If you use this software on a mac can you transfer your work onto a windows pc (with this package already installed) and then edit and view it there ?
I need to know if I buy this package on my mac, can i start making work using this package and then transfer it over to a windows PC with the adobe package already installed then edit and view it on the windows PC then save that work and do the same again on my mac.
My school have windows PC's with the adobe package installed with dreamweaver, flash, photoshop etc. My mac currently has no adobe software.

The files themselves should be cross-platform, e.g. You create a PSD on the the mac, you can open the PSD on the windows computer. You will need to make sure that you have equivalent fonts installed on both machines.

Yes, it will only work on Mac. There is another version for PC, but will need to be purchased separately.

Actually yes you can as long as you're the only user on both platforms (ie you can't share the license with a friend). Also, you can't use the different licenses at the same time. This only goes with single user licensing - for multi-users it's different again.
