My lamp supports a 60W bulb at the maximum. Can I safely use the Philips Hue bulb in that lamp?

Answer
Yes, these bulbs run much cooler than a traditional 60W incandescent bulb...8.5W at full brightness, but similar to a 50W bulb in lumens output @6500K temperature setting. Less lumen output at lower Kelvin temperature.

Yes. Each Hue lamp draws a maximum of 8.5W at full brightness. They're cool to the touch even after being on for some time.

Yes.
The old watts to decide if a bulb was safe is connected to the heat different watt bulbs produced. LED lights can't produce as much heat as a 100W bulb so you're safe AND this bulb is 9W.- Answered by Jens L
