Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic

Product No Longer Available

Does this product have the same mic switch moisture-sensitivity problem as the original earphones shipped with the iPhone when used for exercise?

I have the original earbuds shipped with my iPhone 3G. When used for running/exercise, the mic switch goes haywire after a while because it is moisture (sweat) sensitive. Does anyone know if this product has the same problem? Anyone use it for extended periods of exercise and perspiration?

Yes, it does have the same issue.
However, you don't even need to be sweating to make it go haywire.
They're generally fine for a couple of months but then they start doing the weird, random pauses/skipping/rewinding/random song playing any time the headphones are in and there's no iPod activity/doing something that sounds like activating the 2x button in iPod.app any time they're exposed to any heat. For example, I listen to my iPhone in bed. However, after a few minutes, the remote button goes and does its haywire thing and skips or pauses or rewinds.
This is also my second pair. The first pair were the original in-ear headphones with the remote. That pair had the rubber audio jack cover. I now have the silent update version which has the hard plastic audio jack cover and have exactly the same issue. Needless to say, I will be returning these again... *sigh*
