Do any of these Optoma models support the iPad? If so, does it mirror the iPad display? I want to be able to show Numbers and other programs.

The description in the PKA21 says it is compatible with the iPad, but the compatibility list at the bottom does not show the iPad.

It will only display YouTube video, some video files, some images....

If you want to use a pico projector with iPad, iPhone...then get picosnap, a new app at the apple app store...this let's you view any web site, docs, PDFs, etc...

Yes, the PKA21 is compatible with iPad using the enclosed licensed Apple Connection Kit. Most video content being displayed on the iPad can be projected. Some applications cannot be projected due to the type of file it is save in. The PKA21 supports many types of image and video files (including AVI, MOV, MP4, 3GP, JPEG & BMP), and also support for Apple users at optomausa.com site under the support tab for pico.

  • No, I own this and it only projects videos or pictures; not applications.

  • Yes.

I just got one of these (the PKA21) , and I'm running iOS 5.0.1 on my iPad 1. I got this from the Apple online store, and it came with an Apple adapter that fits the "Apple Dock" port found on iPods, iPhones, and the iPad.

The iPad 1 recognizes this device as an external projector or TV output, and any apps that are set up to use the VGA out function detect it automatically.

This includes YouTube and Keynote - Keynote treats this like a regular projector.
