Not really, these headphones are considered noise isolating so if the fit is correct your voice will be difficult to hear I prefer to use these for music listening or for phone conversations on my commute when it is noisy otherwise I switch to the standard if I want to make a hands free call and not feel like I am yelling. It has the same effect on your voice as plugging your ears with your fingers you will always hear you voice to some extent due to sound being carried through your facial bones. Do not get me wrong the sound quality is outstanding just expect to hear only what your iPhone wants you to. There are hearing aid apps that you could switch to if you must be aware of your surroundings.
