If I connect the 30 pin to 30 pin to vga will it output a/v ?

    no - it does not work. We have tried this and in addition we tried using a lightning to 30 pin and then converting to hdmi and this also does not work.

    It appears one must use the Lightning Digital AV Adapter and that the lightning to 30 pin is virtually useless for this specific purpose.
