So does this replace my linksys router? I have a standard (non router) modem. Will it have an IP address just like my linksys to set security etc?
And also besides serving as a router it will also backup my macbook pro wirelessly via time machine?
Can it back up to separate macbooks via time machine also?

"So does this replace my linksys router?"
Yes, connect your modem's Ethernet cable to the TC's single Ethernet WAN port.
"Will it have an IP address just like my linksys to set security etc?"
Yes, exactly.
"And also besides serving as a router it will also backup my macbook pro wirelessly via time machine?"
Yes, if its running OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard.
"Can it back up to separate macbooks via time machine also?"
Yes, within the limitation that your TC should be 2 to 3 times the capacity of all the hard drives being backed up.- Answered by Andrew H from Carmel
