I have an iMac at home and a digital cable/dsl box. I want my iMac to be wireless so I can now have it in a different room.

I have an iMac at home currently connected to internet via a digital cable/dsl box. The phone company says that I can just buy any wireless router and be able to move within the house as long as my computer has a wireless card. I believe that the iMac does, but I want to make sure of that. Also, if there is some product (Time Capsule, AirPort, etc) that would work better than a regular wireless router and still allow my digital cable to funtion, it would be good to know. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • Only you can check the iMac System Profiler to see if the iMac contains an AirPort wireless card.

It will be difficult to find a better wireless router than a Time Capsule or an AirPort Extreme. Saving $20 isn't at all worth it.
