Answer
I just had Optus Cable installed. Great...until I discovered my wifi wasn't working. After much searching online and through the unless Optus instructions (which don't say how to access the modem settings), I discovered a fix when reading something about Xbox 360 with Airport Extreme.
Basically the cable modem wasn't supplying an IP address, or the Airport Extreme wasn't passing it on, so wifi couldn't connect to the internet. All I did to make it work was go into...
Utilities (folder in Applications) > Airport Utility > Network (tab) and tick the box 'Enable NAT Port Mapping Protocol' and the box 'Enable default host at:'
That seemed to let an IP address through. I got a warning about security, but I ignored it. Wifi now seems to be working fine.- Answered by Cody M from Melbourne
