Is there a longer usb cord or an extention or adapter to connect two together?

    It is both cheap and easy to use a third party usb extender (I can't live without mine). plug the male end into the power soutce, and the female end into the 30-pin connector, then plug the 30 pin connector to the dock with the iPad connected. this will give you extra length between the power source and the dock. (4 feet is the average length for an extender, but they can be bought longer, or put end to end.

  • yes. if you mean an extension for power, go to the "Apple iPad 10W USB Power Adapter" A USB extension is not made by apple, but it does exist
