I want to use it as a remote to control a power point presentation

    You can activate your Mac from 30 ft. away with the Magic Mouse. It might be cumbersome to use while seeing the cursor unless you have a projector or "Smart Board". Otherwise, I recommend the Apple Remote for that type of stuff. The Magic Mouse is the #1 Mouse though :D
