If I use another airport exp to extend my network in my house, can I connect my wife's work cpu to the new airport via ethernet? she can't connect

Normally, yes. You need to make sure the secondary Airport Express is configured to "Allow clients to connect via the Ethernet port"
There is a possibility that her laptop is not configured to use DHCP, and that she has TCP/IP settings specific to her work environment that she does not have sufficient privileges to change.
Perform some basic troubleshooting to ensure that your Apple products are not to blame for any connection failure: Try powering your DSL or Cable modem off for about 15-30 minutes and seeing whether her laptop connects to the Internet when it is connected directly to your DSL or Cable modem via Ethernet.
If it does, then you're in good shape to buy an Airport Express and try this.- Answered by RG from MADISON
