Apple Composite AV Cable

iPod Touch with Dock, Bose LifeStyle 28, Panasonic 42"

What audio / video cable from Apple do I purchase? I've read the specs on both the component cable and the composite cable and I'm not sure. The back panel on the Bose LifeStyle 28 as red/white/black - labeled R / L / D - I got the R=right, L=Left but what is D? The Panasonic 42" back panel has too many ports, including red/green/blue AND yellow.
