Can I back up two MacBook airs to this hard drive? Would I have to partition the disk?

Hi!
You ARE able to do this, and the disk does not need to be partitioned. If you backup using the Time Machine utility on Mac OS X, it will create a file which is the back up. In my case, I have my MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac all backed up to the same HDD as it saves each as an individual disk image (.dmg)
