Can it be attached to a MacBook Air? Or does it need to be attached to a sturdy surface?
I want to know if I can clip this onto my MacBook Air

Unfortunately, it will only work with more stable and weighted surfaces. The clamp would likely damage the MacBook Air display or even body. You could probably attach it to a desk or table, though.

Sturdy.
Beside, don't think that the display bezel of you MacBook Air would do any good to the display. The iPad is probably to heavy too, so the MacBook would just tip over to the left. But there are cool leather cases that can be used as stand too. Maybe such would be an mobile option.- Answered by Helge B
