How well does it repel water?

If I'm going to be toting this through a huge parking lot in a downpour, will my Macbook stay dry?

    Mine repelled water very well- I actually had to go through a rainstorm here in Tampa leaving the mall after buying the pack. The water beaded up and ran off, with no penetration as far as I could tell. This may be a treatment to the materials, but Thule is known for their outdoor gear, so I would expect that feature to last.

  • To put it succinctly, I got stranded in the mud and sheeting rain 7 miles from my house in the night once. By the time I got back, it was covered in mud and appeared to be soaked. I actually hosed it down to get the mud off. When I opened it up, the inside was completely dry. In fact, the outside didn't even absorb the water, it just beaded up and rolled off. Never have I owned a bag more waterproof than this.
