How do I access the optical drive on my iMac with my Macbook Pro with retina display?

• There is software included to do this. It works over the network. Both computers must be on the same local area network (LAN). Some actions, such as playing DVDs or audio CDs, are difficult or not possible over the network, but reading data CDs and DVDs works.
