Can the iPad mini reader be used outdoors like the Kindle?

  yes- in a short answer.. i use my ipad mini at work daily.. its in an otter box all the time in case i dropped it-but to this day-it looks like it did when i took it out of the box... just dont get it wet...hope this helps..
