Atomic Floyd HiDef Drum Headset
good, but a few tricky extras
Written by PC from SALE

I've had these for a few days now, and can honestly say the sound quality is excellent - amongst the best, if not THE best I've owned.
A few minor points to comment:
- the cable is fabric, rather than plastic, and can result in a background noise in the ear if rubbed against clothing;
- microphone appears to suffer from drop-outs and voice quality not good
- not clear what functions you can use the centre button for
If you want a good quality pair of headphones, with particularly responsive bass, these are for you. if you want multi-function headset for phone as well as music use, there may be better units around. …More18 of 22 people found this useful

By far the best ear phones I have ever owned. I have been amazed at the quality. Great bang for your buck! The noise isolation through the well designed in-ear buds works very well, even on flights. The mic is a great bonus for the iphone users.
Could not recommend them higher!! …More15 of 16 people found this useful

Atomic Floyd HiDef Drum Headset
Finally! Quality piece of kit these...
Written by AO from Sutton

I purchased the 3GS and promptly decided to get a quality pair of buds for commuting use. The supplied 3GS ones from apple I have to say are of great quality and I found the sound through all tones more than adequate. However they were uncomfortable and hurt my ears after a small amount of time. I then purchased the ultimate ears metro fi i170. They sounded fantastic but fit was so so, the cable conducted every piece of extra sound from the wires rubbing against my jacket to wind and spoilt the listening experience. And to make it worse, the microphone was downright useless. I use to sway from smugness at the bargain of having the best sound quality under £30 (no really) to a compulsion to slit my own wrists because of the kpfaff in trying to get the things into my ear.
So I then purchased a pair of ultimate buds: a franken creation merged from a pair of Ety 6i buds and the apple cable + microphone/iphone chip assembly. This was ordered from America and cost me £145. It was probably the biggest let down in my entire life. The Ety was simply not up to scratch. Bass was non existent and sounded very average. Tried them for 48 hours and felt like crying everytime I heard my favourites tracks through the buds. Then I finally decided to plumb for the Atomic Floyds. I ripped it open, barely stopping to admire the superlative build quality, fired up my iphone and I could barely stop the smile spreading across my face. The sound quality is simply astounding, from bass to treble and the balance is simply... wow. The microphone worked flawlessly (for me anyway) and the fit was perfect acheving that poise between adequate sound cancellation but not making you deaf to the outside world.
I was concerned about potential noise leak but these have not been an issue for me.
£300 pounds later I have found my perfect buds. I may have to eat stale toast and beans for the rest of the year but at least I'll be listening to music the way the good Lord intended as I scavange for my daily bread. …More4 of 6 people found this useful

The Quality Talks
Written by SH

I experienced a high quality, performance and semi-luxury earphone which appropriately but not entirely blocks the outside noise and all you hear is the reality of the sound.
For those who are after grand beats, claps and hefty kicks and drums, this is the one.
I personally tried some other brands as expensive as £170 and there is no sensible difference between this one and those, in my ears.
The choice is yours anyway

Atomic Floyd HiDef Drum Headset
Good, but not that good
Written by CE from ACCRINGTON

I bought a pair of these, in my quest to find some decent Iphone headphones with a mic and remote that didnt cost in excess of £100 (I ended up buying 4 pairs of headphones before finally getting some that were just right).
I read all of the reviews and though these sounded just the job....but they werent.
In short, they sound great, they are very stylish, incredibly well made and packaged (although the pouch is neither use nor ornament as its too small) and they had a decent number of positive reviews.
The downside is that despite stating so on the box, they offered absolutely no passive noise cancelling at all, they were useless!
So, if you are looking for a decent pair of earphones that look great and come well packaged, then these are for you, but if you are used to a good degree of passive noise cancelling from your in-ear headphones (like sennheisers do etc), forget it, they are awful! …More4 of 6 people found this useful
