For the ultimate in comfort, these Etymotic hf2 heaphones for iPod and iPhone come complete with the option to have custom silicone ear pieces made to the exact shape of your ear, from a silicone impression.

Custom eartips from ACS, the pioneering developer of soft, custom-made silicone ear pieces, create a better acoustic seal for superb noise reduction and an outstanding fit enjoyed by the likes of headlining musicians and Formula One racing drivers worldwide - even astronauts at NASA use them.

Your hf2 headphones for iPod and iPhone...

The Etymotic hf2 for iPod and iPhone is the world's first in-ear, high fidelity, noise-isolating headset. Enjoy clearer communication and better quality music playback.

They allow hands-free voice calls even in noisy locations. The high sensitivity microphone provides clearer two-way communication for you and your caller and mutes and pauses your music automatically as your phone rings so you never miss a call.

Coupled with your optional custom-made silicone ear pieces you can enjoy superb sound and maximum comfort for calls and your favourite music.

How do you have an impression of your ear taken?

Simply contact any of the conveniently located ACS impression taking centres, including Boots hearingcare, to make an appointment. Your nearest centre can be found at: www.hearingprotection.co.uk/impressions.

A registered audiologist will take an impression of the inside of your ear using a soft silicone impression material, injected into your ear canal and allowed to set for 5 to 8 minutes, before being gently removed. The process is quick and painless and takes about 10 minutes to complete.

Your custom-made silicone ear pieces...

Your voucher is sent with your impressions to ACS and once received, they will contact you for a payment of £90.00.

Within 21 days your custom earmoulds will arrive by post, so you can enjoy premium audio and comfort with your high fidelity, noise-isolating hf2 headphones.*

    Most comfortable in-ear headphones ever.

These are quite literally the most comfortable in-ear headphones i have ever had. Admittedly, having a guy squirt silicone into your ear canal is a bit weird - you basically have to sit there in total silence while it sets, with blue stuff sticking out of your lug holes. It doesn't hurt at all and it's small price to pay for the result.

The first time you put them in you have to twist them about a bit, but once you get used to how to get them in place, it's easy and they feel natural.

I really think these could be the way forward. I got the chance to test them on a long haul flight to the US and the noise reduction is great. Even if you have your music on pretty quiet, you can hear it all perfectly - and i mean all, all the little details that you don't normally hear.

If you turn your music up just a bit, you can only hear the very slightest bit of outside noise. I wore them for around 6 hours straight and hardly noticed they were in - no aching or discomfort at all. Highly recommended.

I've always bought Shure earphones but decided to go for these for the iPhone microphone. They sound amazing and the silicon earbuds are immensely comfortable and you will always find a pair that fit you fine.

The problem is my first pair shorted at the earphone jack causing one of the earphones to lose connection. This meant that I was only able to listen to music etc in mono. I called Apple and got a replacement easily. 2 months later this has happened again :/ Now Apple will replace again which is excellent but I'm quickly losing faith in the Etymotic brand. Maybe next time I will pay a bit more cash and get some Sennheisers or Bose headphones.

Just a bit of a warning, maybe they created a bad batch but these are quality headphones and sound amazing. Shame both of mine have broken. 2 pairs in 10 months now! :(

Fantastic sound quality but poor build quality

At first the in ear canal type buds may feel odd but when you get used to them its amazing. I would not go back to traditional headphone or ear buds. Simply the combination of both the quality of the sound and the noise dampening effects of the ear plug design is perfect.

The phone features were excellent with everyone i called saying it was crystal clear.

Sadly this is let down by the build quality of the rest of the product.

The cable attaching the spring to the plastic in the clip broke after week 1. As i rarely used it i wasn;t fussed. The single button on the cable to answer calls lost its rebound or got stuck after month 3 and now at month 5 the cable has developed a break and sound cuts out based on position.

So £99 for a headset .. would have been 5 Stars (and it was for first month) but it started falling apart.

Excellent product but short life span.

Good headphones - poor build quality

Written by AL from BUCKHURST HILL

I've now had three sets of these headphones, the first two sets were returned for replacement to Apple after the left headphone stopped working - the third set had exactly the same issue, and is now out of warranty - so unable to return for replacement...!

The fault lies in the connection that plugs into the iPhone - when the left headphone stopped working, I was moving the cable, which would then cause the left headphone to work intermittently again, although you had to hold in an awkward position, so not a fix as such, but an indication of the poor build quality.

These headphones were always well looked after, never snagged or mis-treated, and I only ever used for commuting. I have a set of Sony headphones for 6 years that are still going strong, that cost a fraction of the price….why oh why is build quality so poor in supposedly premium products……! Hmmmmmmmm Very disappointed to say the least…!

Please spend as much time in build quality as in reasearch and performance…!
