Once I'd found out how to retract it! I pulled both ends to extend it and made it a little too long. I couldn't find anywhere how to retract it. The Belkin site has never heard of it. Eventually, a Belkin support guy (who I suspect did not understand the word retract) eventually cottoned on to what I was asking. As I suspected, you do extend it fully and then it will re-coil.

Oh, and of course, it connects iPod to car perfectly!
