Raise Armies
Lead with cunning and might. Train your people to be infantry, knights, throwing axemen, cavalry, archers and more. Control all your military's strategy and tactics in intense real-time battles. Create formations, coordinate attacks, flank your enemy's infantry, siege their castles and more.
Forge Alliances
Join forces with other civilizations. Establish trading blocs. Create a global strategy of conquest and survival.
Grow a thriving market economy
A market-based economy lets you open up new avenues of trade with your allies and create new methods of conquering your enemies. Build a rich empire by building markets, buying and selling resources, and establishing new trade routes.
Build wonders to stand the test of time
Can you build the Cathedral at Chartres? Charlemagne's Palace? The Hagia Sophia at Constantinople? Keep it standing long enough and you can win the game.
Lead one of 13 Civilizations
In Age of Empires II, you can command any one of 13 mighty civilizations. These include the Franks, Japanese, Byzantines, Vikings, Mongols, Celts and more. Each civilization has unique attributes, strengths and weaknesses, buildings and technologies, as well as a unique combat unit based on its historical counterpart. Be sure to try them all to find the civilization that best suits your playing style.
Includes the Conquerors Expansion
Five new civilizations, four new historical campaigns, eleven new units, different maps, and a whole bunch of new features.
This game has been developed for the Mac by MacSoft.

Doesnt work for the latest MacBooks!
Its to do with the screen settings and the rez.
It was quite disappointing to being able to play it right after i sorted my new Mac. :(
But.... My mates older Macbook playes it fine, so if you got your Macbook before Nov 07 you should be fine.

Love it, have done since AoE games first came out. I switched to Mac's about 2 years ago & haven't looked back - well apart from not being able to get a lot of games.

Love it, have done since AoE games first came out. I switched to Mac's about 2 years ago & haven't looked back - well apart from not being able to get a lot of games.
