Orphaned as a child when bandits raid and destroy your village, you are rescued by the sorcerer Maze and delivered to the Guild of Heroes. Here you train with fellow apprentices, competing to join the Heroes’ ranks.
To discover the reasons behind your family’s murder and the destruction of your village, you must explore the world of Albion, from rural villages and murky swamps to the highest mountain peaks. However, the task ahead of you will not be an easy one...
Key Features
- Forge a Hero Based on Your Actions: Heroes age and evolve through the actions you choose and the paths you follow - be it for good, evil or in between. Your physical development will depend upon how you confront the challenges before you.
- Engage in Intense Real Time Combat: Master an array of deadly weapons as you follow the way of the sword, hunt your quarry using the bow, or harness the mystic arts to weave death from the elements.
- Build a Living Legend: Build a name for yourself across the land, gaining glory or infamy through your deeds. Recruit allies and followers, make friends and enemies, pursue relationships and even marry.
- Explore and Shape a Living, Evolving World: Champion or turn upon a living world with competitive and co-operative Heroes, variable weather systems and environments teeming with people, places and events that react to you.
- Use Scores of Unique Skills and Extras: Learn new abilities and add possessions as your character develops. Master the art of thievery; acquire a family, real estate, tattoos and much more.
- Never Play the Same Game Twice: Once an adventure has been completed, go back and try the experience again. Forge a new tale full of new twists and surprising turns, with new skills, powers, influences, allies and enemies.
Gameplay
- For Good, or For Evil?: Your actions as a Hero, good, evil or somewhere in between, determine your alignment and in turn, your physical form.
- Kill and steal from the locals and you might begin to grow horns, or even attract insects. If you choose to be noble, defeating villains and monsters as needed, you may acquire lighter-coloured eyes and sport a feint halo.
- Word Travels Quickly: Villagers may greet your arrival with joy as the news of your virtuous deeds spreads across the land. However, they may have also heard about your mean streak and all the innocents you have slaughtered on your way. Or, they might simply laugh at you.
- Accepting Quests: To become a Hero of Renown you must accept increasingly challenging quests from the citizens of Albion. These are tasks judged impossible for ordinary folk, and many are not thought possible even for the mightiest of Heroes.

FABLE: The Lost Chapters
Good game, but too short.

The idea behind this game drew me to it because it just sounded great and I found it largely met my expectations.
Graphics:
The graphics for the game are pretty good if your Mac can support all the details on max. Some areas are a little dark at times, but you can see what you're doing. Sometimes the graphics do get a little 'blocky' or look a bit weird but it doesn't effect the game play.
Sound:
Decent sounds and the area music and battle music is pretty good. The NPC speech is a nice effect as it gives a sense of realism when walking through towns. The noises can be really eerie at times, ie when you're in a ghost town and there are voices whispering.
Story Line:
There isn't really much of a story line until about mid-way through the game. Up until that point you're just doing quests for people. The story line is pretty good when it appears, it does have both surprising and predictable moments though.
Controls:
Once you set yourself up with some good controls it becomes very easy to play and you can become very adept at combat. It's just remembering all the controls that's the problem!
Entertainment Value:
The game itself is pretty good fun to play although the constant hacking and slashing can become tedious. One of the game's major faults is that it is far too short. I completed it in about 13 hours on my first go through which was disappointing and the final boss was incredibly easy. After the game you are free to roam the land though which is a plus.
Overall I'd give it 4/5 …More13 of 13 people found this useful

Having previously completed the game twice (once as a good hero, and another as a diabolical corrupted villain!) I find this game thrilling and exciting, advisable for any fantasy/RPG loving person!
Although I played this game on Windows, I'm sure the Mac experience will be just as good :) …More43 of 50 people found this useful
