    Truely awe-inspiring!

This is an absolutely amazing game. The graphics are like nothing you have ever seen, the sound is crisp and perfectly suited to the action, the AI is intelligent and challenging and the plot is of a calibre not seen in Mac gaming since the Marathon series.

Moving through the claustrophobic corridors of the gritty and realistic Martian colony, you will meet periods of hard fighting along with long periods where you are tensed for an ambush. The quicksave button will soon become your new best friend, as will the torch. You'll find your heart racing when the dodgy electrics short out and you hear ominous clicking and growling. Sudden movements and the loud clatter of loose panelling falling to the floor will have you blowing off magazines of machine-gun ammo at nothing. Horrific blood trails, garbled radio conversations and ghostly whispers will reveal the true horrors of the UAC and have you fearing what may be lurking behind the next door.

I actually found myself scared to play it for a long while for fear of what might jump out of the next shadowed corridor.

    It's brilliant!

I downloaded the demo as i have had bad exp with Asper games in the past.
I have a mac book pro 3GB RAM 2.4 GHz intel core duo Nividia GeForce 8600M GT

(you get the picture its all pretty hardcore hardware)

but the game runs so slowly!
On high/medium graphics its slow when doors open and there is more that one than 1 other person on screen! lol
Im not bad mouthing the game, as it is brilliant, scary and buckets loads of fun.
I don't get why the game fps is so slow. Is it because its not intel naitve...?
In conclusion don’t get the game if u are running on intel
(you could always get the demo and see how it runs for you if you dont believe me...?)

    Great game...

Have always been a fan of first person shooters, and this game is highly impressive. Jaw-dropping graphics and good gameplay. Bought it for my MacBook, and it works fine other than the sound; had my igriffin USB soundcard to get anything which is a shame. More

    Confused!

Have just purchased a brand new mac pro standard configuration with 30" cinema screen. This game just runs as if in slow motion, surely the screen cant be too big to allow the videocard to run the game properly. Is this nvidia gt120 video card poor or is there a conversion problem with older games? Reluctant to buy other mac games until found answers to this. Will be dissapointed if the video card turns out to be the weak link, you would think apple would put a decent card in there top end machines! If you have a machine of similar spec then avoid this game like the plague, not worth it. More

    A repetitive, over-rated game

    Written by CW from OLDHAM

I bought this game for my macbook pro - core 2 due 2.33 ghz, 2gb ram , 256mb graphics ram.
I admit the game runs smoothly enough and the graphics are OK but nothing special - even on the highest resulution and detail.
But unlike most 1st person shooters, the games doesnt really have a story line. Its basically shoot enemies, harder ememies come, gain better weapons, more harder ememies come, gain more better weapons e.c.t.
Apart from that i disagree with 'its scary', unless your a wimp or a child than you will not be even mildly frightened by it.
Another anoyance is that the scenery (like the enemies) doesnt change from being surranded by metal-like walls and being in darkness, sometimes the game gets a little boring.
Even if you, like my self, like 1st person shooters i wouldnt reccomend this game.
