Better quality than cheaper alternatives
I bought 2 similar looking but cheaper cases from a reputable online supplier which were initially great. They had a leather front I bought 2 similar looking but cheaper cases from a reputable online supplier which were initially great. They had a leather front with magnets and folded into a stand, but the sides and back we're made of plastic and bits broke off after a short period of use leaving the corners of my iPad Mini dangerously exposed. I decided to buy the Apple smart case as it was made of leather with no plastic used. So far it's been great, though I have found the case can slip if not pulled together tight enough when putting it up as a stand, but you just wrap the flaps together tighter before standing the iPad upright and it stays no problem. I went for the black as marks shouldn't show up as much as they would on lighter colours. Only 4 stars as the price is a tad overpriced, but if it lasts the lifetime of my iPad it'll be worth it …

apart from pricing excellent case.
I recently upgraded my mini and decided to pay full price for an apple case.
Apart from the price I have to say the case is excel I recently upgraded my mini and decided to pay full price for an apple case.
Apart from the price I have to say the case is excellent. Covering the power and volume buttons but still being easy to operate, through raised mouldings.
The magnetic folding cover is excellent and up to the job of curling into a triangle and holding the iPad mini in landscape.
The case has a leather/rubbery flexible feel unlike the cheaper plastic frames of others and fits well. As this case is slightly thicker than cheaper models it does muffle the speakers more but as I use head phones for anything more than alerts that's fine for me. The inside of the lid is soft and very screen friendly, again my other 3rd party covers tended to be more smooth and plastic there to.
Although a little thicker than 3rd party clip on cases it feels just as light/lighter.
Overall don't feel ripped off by pricing despite being 3-4 times more expensive to good.
My only concern is the hinged edge area that seems to protrude from the left of the case, other cases I have had in the past follow the lines tightly so I will need to see how this wears. …

Nice case but not really worth £55
This case fits the iPad Mini absolutely perfectly, the case smells amazing because it is leather but the magnets are not very stro This case fits the iPad Mini absolutely perfectly, the case smells amazing because it is leather but the magnets are not very strong. When I go to watch a movie or something, sometimes I have to re adjust the case lid to prevent the iPad collapsing. The microfiber lining doesn't feel that soft, I have bought a case for £1.99 on eBay with better feel, before! I understand the cost because of the finish but overall it's an 'okay' case! …

is the case drop proof
- Asked by Thomas Z from Perth
Nothing is drop-proof, but it is slightly damage resistant.
It will prevent it from getting scuffed Nothing is drop-proof, but it is slightly damage resistant.
It will prevent it from getting scuffed if dropped, it prevents scratches, and it likely prevents most minor drop damage, but if it's dropped on the screen it will break, and the iPad will break if dropped on a hard surface from too high.
TL;DR: It's no Otterbox but it's better than nothing. …
