Product Information

  • The 60W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector so if someone should trip over it, the cord disconnects harmlessly and your MacBook Pro stays put safely. It also helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

    When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector lights up; an amber light lets you know that your notebook is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC cord is provided with the adapter for maximum cord length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives you an even easier and more compact way to travel.

    Designed to be the perfect traveling companion, the adapter has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

    Compatible with MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina display.

I have an old Dell laptop which has been carried all around the world and the cable is still going strong 4 years on - Apple it is a very poor show. At £65 a cable it is pure day light robbery!

    Love the extension cord that makes it longer.

    There are 2 *slight issues that I've had that knock it off a 5 star review;

    There are 2 *slight issues that I've had that knock it off a 5 star review;
    1) The t shape of the MagSafe connector means that sitting in bed, sometimes the connecter sometimes slips off when you move.
    2) If you sit anything on top the white plastic block (ie a duvet cover) it will overheat, go scalding hot and stop charging your macbook. But let's be honest, you know not to do that if you read the product warnings. However this won't break your connector. It will just shut off until it's cooled back down, then begin working again as normal.

    Ignore the 1 star reviews, one of whom even issued a one star review because he bought the wrong cable!

    I have a Macbook Pro late 2011 and I'm just about to buy its third power cord. At £65 this is extremely disappointing. Don't mind I have a Macbook Pro late 2011 and I'm just about to buy its third power cord. At £65 this is extremely disappointing. Don't mind paying premium for a great product, but I do mind paying this much for a product that is obviously not fit for purpose and not manufactured to a high enough standard for its likely use. Given the number of reviews making this same point, isn't it about time Apple did something about it?
