Features

The 45-Watt MagSafe Power Adaptor for MacBook Air features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain, and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light up; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC lead is provided with the adaptor for maximum lead length, while the AC wall adaptor (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Redesigned specifically for MacBook Air, the adaptor is the perfect travelling companion. It has a clever design that allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adaptor recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible only with MacBook Air with MagSafe Power Port.

    Woeful

Unsurprisingly, the 45W version is just as reliable as the others. Flimsy would be a generous adjective for this charger. It's actually quite dangerous how easily this breaks and had I been a bit less careless, I could've had a nasty shock. I will not be giving Apple the satisfaction of getting an extortionate replacement from them when there are far cheaper alternatives. More

    Very poor

After *just* over a year (of course) the charger no longer works. How can the extortionate cost of a new one be justified? Shame on you, Apple More

Well, i have seen/ heard other people complaining about how theese chargers break very very easily, and how they've had 4+ chargers in a short period of time (short amount of years) so i give this a 2 for how long the charger has lasted, sorry More

    Was good while it worked

I say it was good while it worked but it constantly overheated on occasions becoming so hot you couldn't even touch it! Now it just doesn't work anymore after a period of 2 months of it intermittently working. The extortionate price of a replacement means I will not get another one but I am also concerned about spending money on cheap replacements! More

Died after 2 1/2 years (Design over durabilty)

    • Written by from London

Though they look very pretty. The flimsy small lead broke at the point where it went into the charger and at the point where it joins the metal input for the computer.

I understands Apples wants to slick, slimline and and design centric. This should not be done over durability.

On laptop that should last 4 years without thinking about an upgrade. The charger should not break in half that time. The charger certainly wouldn't of been able to pass a pat test for the last year.

I am not the only person with this issue. Design over durabilty come on.
