    Pro's AND con's.

    A great product until...(after two years) it stopped being recognised by any Macbook Air with a DVD stuck inside. No reset or manual eject button. Went to Apple store for them to tell me to buy a new one as a repair would cost the same. In my opinion buy a different make external drive which can be reset! …More

    Look elsewhere for a DVD drive...

    Mine has never been reliable, at first it was only one or two DVDs or CDs that it couldn't read, now after a year and a half I mostly have to use a different computer if I want to read a DVD or CD. In my opinion this is a dry poor product and it has debilitated my MacBook Air significantly.

    It is also poor value compared to non-Apple DVD drives, you pay a lot for the nice consistent look.

    had it for 2 years and after about 1 year and 6 moths it stopped working and the cd's/dvd's keep getting stuck

    Adequate but could be better

    This is a very appealing piece of kit, but it would be even more appealing if it read CDs reliably. It is particularly bad for ripping CDs to iTunes and regularly grinds to a halt on discs that an iMac will read without a hitch.     i have got a macbook air and the macbook air is just made for it, it has a really slic design which is the same as the laptop. The laptop is just made for it on the keyboard it has an eject button to eject the disc. I have has the product for 2 months and I use it all the time.     The SuperDrive only works on Mac computers that lack an internal optical drive so no, the SuperDrive would not work on an iMac with a broken optical drive. You can however, bring the iMac to any Apple store and if it is still under warranty, it can possibly be fixed free of charge depending on the damage which caused it. Otherwise, Apple can repair/replace the internal optical drive for a fee. …More

    No it doesn't and probably never will. People have been asking for it ever since it came out but Apple long decided that online streaming is the future. I would love for them to put in blu ray but I highly doubt they ever will. …More
