Not the case the movies are protected and therefore will not play on the TV. Apple have been a little misleading in their product listing saying you can watch movies - yes you can but only your own movies you have created - not iTune movies. This was one of the reasons I purchased the iPad for. On a good note they did refund the product very quickly when I returned it. Very annoyed though as they are still expecting you to purchase Apple TV. I did contact support and iTunes support but they couldn't help. The best help I received was from a staff memeber at the Trafford store who told me immediately that it would not be possible to view iTunes movies stored on the iPad on a TV.

The connector to VGA Adapter is a simple accessory that I have found indispensible when presenting from my iPad. Just plug and go. My only advice is to pack a VGA extender cable when taking your iPad to presentations as the accessory doesn't have much cable and sometimes venues don't provide long enough cables.

My wife has also used it with her iPad 2 and I have tried it with my iPhone 4S. Works with them all.

I use this to connect my iPad to a data projector when giving lectures, sometimes for slides using Keynote but more often when I am showing video clips. I have only two criticisms. The first is that it could do with being a little longer and more flexible and the second is that at £25 it is rather expensive.

The cable means little time is required to connect up the inputs and get everything running, very efficient.

    Great product, lovely design.

It stands for Video Graphics Adapter (some call it Video Graphic Array) and you'll also find VGA sometimes used to describe the resolution of the output from the computer: e.g. "SuperVGA. etc."

The connector is a three-row 15-pin DE-15 connector. The 15-pin VGA connector is found on many video cards, computer monitors, and some high definition television sets. On laptop computers or other small devices, a mini-VGA port is sometimes used in place of the full-sized VGA connector.

The Apple VGA Adapter is designed to connect your iPad to a monitor, TV or projector using a VGA cab The Apple VGA Adapter is designed to connect your iPad to a monitor, TV or projector using a VGA cable. This is an older type of connection but still common on many projectors sold today. A VGA connection can only carry a video signal. Another limitation of VGA is its lack of support for HDCP - 'High Definition Copy Protection' - which prevents the playback of some movies (for example movies rented or purchased from the iTunes store) on an external display.

The Apple Digital AV Adapter allows you to connect you iPad to a monitor, TV, projector or home theatre system using an HDMI cable. HMDI carries both a video and audio signal, and supports HDCP, making it ideal for playback of rented or purchased movies from the iTunes store. This adapter also includes a 30-pin dock connector to which you can connect a USB charging cable, allowing you to charge your iPad at the same time as using the adapter.
