Product Information

  • The 60 Watt MagSafe Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light up; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC lead is provided with the adapter for maximum lead length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Designed to be the perfect travelling companion, the adapter has a clever design that allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible with MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Bought this as my old original T-shape maglock charger for my macbook stopped working.

Have had it a total of maybe, 2-3 week Bought this as my old original T-shape maglock charger for my macbook stopped working.

Have had it a total of maybe, 2-3 weeks and if I want to charge my laptop the cable has to be put into a very specific position.

Also the metal head that connects to your macbook gets very hot and can burn you.

I will be requesting a replacement and would hope that apple would stop using cheap materials and over charging because of their brand.

The past week or 2 it has slowly started to stop working properly going off when I move it the tinniest amount and then takes a while to get back working again, this is what happened to my old charger before it broke. Now today I felt the head of the charger and the temperature was ridiculous I physically cant hold it in my hand for longer than 4 seconds without being burned! Im worried that it may set on fire if it keeps getting worse. Im going to get in contact with apple to see if they can replace it or something for me. Iv noticed im not the only one as somebody else has posted the same thing as me.

The cord disintegrates through normal use. I don't even move my charger cable around much and it always goes bad. Apple really need to forget having a so called elegant looking thin cord and get a thicker more durable one. For saying how much the macbook pro itself cost and then to get replacement things like chargers £65 is bad. These chargers should really be no more the £20 as you have to keep replacing them. All apple chargers in my house do not stand the test of time.

The design has been like this for some time, so why has Apple not redesigned this. Clearly this is an inherent problem. Given all the negative feedback they should realise they need to address this.

This is a lot of money to spend on something that should not had arisen.

I am having to get a third charger and my saving grace is that i paid for 3 yrs extended warranty when i bought my MBP from Argos otherwise i would have been in deep trouble. The replacement cost is eye watery and i am dreading when my warranty expires how i'm going to fork out £65 for a useless and over priced charger!
