Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter (for MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro)
Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter (for MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro)
The 60 Watt MagSafe Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.
When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light up; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC lead is provided with the adapter for maximum lead length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel.
Designed to be the perfect travelling companion, the adapter has a clever design that allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.
This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.
Compatible with MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Have had it a total of maybe, 2-3 weeks and if I want to charge my laptop the cable has to be put into a very specific position.
Also the metal head that connects to your macbook gets very hot and can burn you.
I will be requesting a replacement and would hope that apple would stop using cheap materials and over charging because of their brand. …

The past week or 2 it has slowly started to stop working properly going off when I move it the tinniest amount and then takes a while to get back working again, this is what happened to my old charger before it broke. Now today I felt the head of the charger and the temperature was ridiculous I physically cant hold it in my hand for longer than 4 seconds without being burned! Im worried that it may set on fire if it keeps getting worse. Im going to get in contact with apple to see if they can replace it or something for me. Iv noticed im not the only one as somebody else has posted the same thing as me. …

When I bought my Macbook air, I asked the 'genius' if they'd improved the durability of the chargers, which they assured me that they had. Well, here I am, with a charger which has only survived the length of time that it has, thanks to the wonder sugru, with another charger which has died, the night before a big uni deadline.
Please, can you make an effort to produce a durable product, rather than one which merely looks pretty... …

You can check to see if other things are converters if it has something like Input: 100-240V~1.5A 50-60Hz. This shows that an electric current of 100-240 Volts can power the converter without problem, which Spain's electricity falls in. If you cannot find this on a product (though most electronics made in about the last 5-10 years automatically convert) or if you feel you would rather side with caution you can but a converter, but only leave it plugged it when you need the power because converters burn out quickly from overheating if you leave them plugged in too long. …

So answer is yes if the port fits. 85W just means that it has larger capability of supplying larger current with the same voltage when it is necessary. So when you plug 85 W power adapter into your air, it will give just enough current to the Macbook Air. Since the voltage is kept the same, it won't cause any problem. …
