Would have been good to have the iPod Nano like click wheel feature added - however I guess Apple have been so focussed on the aluminium design that they couldn't have bothered upgrading it.
If you've never owned an Apple remote - you will probably like it. If you've got an older one, don't bother upgrading as it has zero, zilch, nada additional benefits over the older one. …

Well, not exactly huge, but about 40% longer than the previous generation and approximately the same width. Has a pleasingly solid feel and excellent quality construction, but not ideal if you just want a small lightweight clicker that's easy to slip in your pocket, hence the lower rating. …

Not a lot to say. Functions well is but missing the useability that's ubiquitous with Apple products. Most annoyingly, sat in bed watching Apple TV with my missus, I have the noisiest remote control ever, the button click is so loud!
In summary. Not slick, not that useable. Noisy. Basic. If Apple only made remotes it would disappearing very soon, Please improve. You reinvented the mobile phone, please improve this basic device; not everyone wants to use their iPhone especially when relaxing in the home cinema room. …

Nearly all of the positive reviews come from when Front Row was included. I've never seen or used front frontrow, but from the reviews, without front row (is not included, and there doesn't appear to be a way of purchasing it) the remote is irritating and extremely limited; that is assuming you can get anything other than play and skip to work. I really dislike it and wish I could get my money back.
For a modern MACBook owner this remote is 'poo' don't waste your time or money. …
