Apple Remote with iPod and iPhone
If you connect your iPod to a home stereo, powered speakers or TV set, the Apple Remote lets you experience your songs, slideshows and more from across the room. Plug your iPod into the Universal Dock and choose a playlist, slideshow or video. Then sit back, relax and enjoy. Ready to move on to the next song? No need to get up. Just press the Next button on the Apple Remote. Getting a call on your iPhone? Press Pause, then pick up where you left off.
Apple Remote with Mac
The Apple Remote gives you total command of your music, photos, videos and DVDs from anywhere in the room. It works with Front Row — a menu-based, full-screen interface — to make accessing the digital content on your Mac as simple as navigating your iPod. When you press the Menu button, your desktop fades and the sleek Front Row interface takes its place to give you control over your music in iTunes, your photos in iPhoto, the videos in your Movies folder and your DVDs. Turn up the volume. Shuffle. Skip to the next chapter on your DVD. Play a slideshow, a home movie you made in iMovie, even a film trailer.

3 Stars for a reason
I've had the previous generation of the Apple Remote and I prefer that to the new one. I find the new one big and no additional fe atures have been added. Would have been good to have the iPod Nano like click wheel feature added - however I guess Apple have been so focussed on the aluminium design that they couldn't have bothered upgrading it.
If you've never owned an Apple remote - you will probably like it. If you've got an older one, don't bother upgrading as it has zero, zilch, nada additional benefits over the older one. …- Written by Zain S from GLASGOW

Good Remote
Just arrived this morning, was a bit hesitant in ordering as there were conflicting opinions if this would work with my mackbook 1 3 alu, fortunately once i waded through the large amount of packaging and the very large box it come in i just pointed at the mackbook and it went straight into frontrow, works like a charm straight out of the box 5 stars for apple product, 1 star for the amount of excessive packaging they sent it in, thought that they were supposed to be reducing packaging on all of their products?
Anyway works brilliantly now i can enjoy watching and listening to my music remotely, yes i know that you can do this with the iphone app it just looks so much better in front row, again 5 stars for apple. …- Written by chris F from canterbury

Surprisingly large
The first thing I thought when I saw this remote was: it's huge! Well, not exactly huge, but about 40% longer than the previous ge neration and approximately the same width. Has a pleasingly solid feel and excellent quality construction, but not ideal if you just want a small lightweight clicker that's easy to slip in your pocket, hence the lower rating. …

Excellent remote control
After having my imac for almost 5 years now, the old white remote control that came with it was giving some problems with the play /stop button. So I decided to buy the new remote control, it is really nice and feels really good. It is much more thinner and longer than the first one. The buttons are excellent and really easy to use. I would highly recommend this remote. …
