Overview
This VESA Mount Adapter Kit allows your 24-inch iMac computer or 24-inch LED Cinema Display to be used with a variety of alternate mounting solutions such as wall mounts and zero footprint articulating arms based on the VESA flat panel mounting interface (FPMI).
With a tool in this kit, you can remove the iMac or display stand and attach the VESA Mount Adapter. Then connect any VESA-compliant mounting solution with a 100mm x 100mm attachment.
With the VESA Mount Adapter attached, the 24-inch iMac and 24-inch LED Cinema Display complies with the VESA MIS-D, 100, C version specification.
Compatibility
Works with the following models:
- 24-inch iMac with 2.4GHz, 2.66GHz, 2.8GHz, 2.93GHz, or 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme
- 24-inch LED Cinema Display.
Note: Wall mount or articulating arm not included.

What strikes immediately is that even though this is 'just' a bracket, it's well packaged like all other Apple products.
The bracket completely replaces the iMac stand but the kit includes all the tools required to remove the original stand. The removal is easy enough and once removed, you are able to start attaching the bracket. It's here that the instructions need to be followed to the letter otherwise you'll be wondering how on earth the side flanges will attach.
All in all, anyone should be able to remove the old bracket and install the new one in under 15 mins. …More17 of 18 people found this useful

It's an excellent piece of accessory that makes iMac 24" sit on ergonomic arm beautifully.
The other reviews blaming the tools included with VESA are rubbish. Sorry fellas but it is either you are impatient or DIY challenged.
Yes, I admit, releasing the latch with a card tool to reach for 8 screws was a fiddling job. It took 5-10min to release the latch but if one be patient and imagine that what is required is to push thin and flexible metal blade the width of which is just over the card you are pushing with, then it is not that difficult at all. (Perhaps here Apple could provide in the manual an X-ray of what the latch looks like. This way it would be dummy proof)
The rest of the job is VERY easy…just follow the manual.

Considering the mount will not regularly be seen, it does look very nice with the brushed metal look.
The only part in the manual that confused me was the orientation of the flange - be careful before attempting to put the screws in.
Be aware that the mount adds an extra 25mm to the depth of a 24" iMac, so you will probably want to get a slim wall mount if you want the iMac against the wall as much as possible. …More9 of 10 people found this useful
