Overview

The Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic take the acclaimed Apple iPod Earphones and add a control capsule, located on the cable of the right earpiece, that includes a microphone and three buttons.

Here's what you can do with this convenient remote:*

  • Adjust the volume by pressing the + and - buttons.
  • Control music and video playback — including play/pause and next/previous — by pressing the centre button.
  • Record voice memos on supported devices.
  • Answer and end calls.

*Compatibility Information

  • The remote and mic are supported only by iPod nano (4th generation and later), iPod classic (120GB/160GB), iPod touch (2nd generation and later), iPhone 3GS and later, and iPad. The remote is supported by iPod shuffle (3rd generation and later). Audio is supported by all iPod models.
  • Requires software version 1.0.3 for iPod nano (4th generation), 2.0.1 for iPod classic (120GB), and 2.2 or later for iPod touch (2nd generation).

    The earphones are sensitive, and the remote is a great idea. I have been waiting for these to be available for ages. I use them with my 2nd gen iPod touch and they are good. The reason that I bought these was to have my ipod in my bag, but still be able to change the music. The reason that I have not given these five stars is that they do not have much length in them, and they do not work with my earphone extenders. On their own they do not have much slack in the cord. If they came with or even sold these extenders then I would give five stars. …More

    I had my first pair for years, I think I got them in America in 2009! The only reason they broke was because they got sucked up the vacuum cleaner, until then they were perfect! I now have another pair that again just haven't broke, and I've never had a problem with them!

    Tendency to break

    I found the earphones a great convenience and couldn't be satisfied with them any more. That was at least until they broke. None of the buttons work and I've talked to a few other guys with these earphones and they have all shared the same disappointment.
    So if you'd like a pair of excellent earphones that will last you no more than a month or two, fire ahead but for the rest of us who value durability as much as practicality, keep your money.     …More

    Warranty is 1 year when you buy at the Apple Store.
