    Beautiful keyboard, not for everyone...

    • Written by from London

I bought this the morning it came on the site - my older apple keyboard whilst responsive was too clunky and heavy. and sitting 8 hours a day at it, I started to get tired wrists from the height.

Let's set aside the looks - they're fantastic. And the anodysed look closely matches my monitors and mac pro case - good job apple!
The response takes a very slight getting used to, but once you have it's far easier to type from and completely comfortable during long sessions.

This keyboard might still not be a replacement for everyone though:
the additional shortkeys at the top may be great for the casual user, but if like me you're a pro apps user, beware that such keys as the volume controls have been stuck onto the F keys. F keys that you may use constantly in Final Cut Pro.
You can turn the volume controls off when you use such apps, but personally I find it a little tricky to juggle between the two.

Just a word of warning if you are a heavy apps user, otherwise a very solid product that combines great looks with impressive functionality.

Fabulous, an absolute joy to use

    • Written by from EASTLEIGH

This is the best keyboard I've ever used. A bit like the MacBook keyboard but more positive in use and the keys feel really solid and responsive. It's supermodel sized (wafer thin and no excess around the sides of the keyboard), quiet and is a full keyboard with a proper numeric keypad and cursor key cluster.

The one I'm typing on is connected to a MacBook Pro and I'm just about to go and order 2 more, one to keep at work to save me carrying this one around and another for my Mac Mini. It's just a shame the wireless version doesn't have all the keys otherwise I'd be ordering one of those too!

As for the comments about missing anti slip pads, the one that arrived here today has 4 rubber feet underneath and I haven't had a problem at all with it slipping around on my laminated desk here. All the keys work as expected as well.

Apple, Well done on a genius keyboard, I'm gonna miss it when I'm travelling with just the MacBook pro.

    Totally awesome.

You know aside from the design the best thing about this keyboard is that it is very quiet. Much more so than the old ones. I am now finally able to type while on the phone without people hearing the tapping noise!!! More

    First rate keyboard

    • Written by from Laurencekirk

Switched to iMac after using PCs from when they were first sold and one of my concerns was the Apple keyboard design. Went for the tethered version as I use the numeric keypad a lot and would probably miss it, along with the dedicated editing keys. After a month's use, I've no regrets. Feels solid and a decent weight to keep it stationary on my desk; well spaced keys, with nice touch. Only problems have been with me remembering some of the slightly different shortcut combinations, but I'm getting used to them (and that's not strictly a keyboard issue).

Tempted to buy the wireless version to use with my iPad.

great product shame about caps key

    • Written by from Redruth

ok so i have been using a normal keyboard and i thought i would get an apple keyboard as a few symbols were missing from a standard non apple key, which i need for scripting.

i got to say its great really useful and helps me type a lot quicker with the slim keys. one big problem i found though was the caps key new delay system for noob typers. not a bad idea if you could turn this off and i know it isnt built into the keyboard for a fact as i have fixed the problem on mine, and the the light comes on if i tap it quick.

how i did it i dont know all i know is that i changed a few settings in universal and keyboard setup and then restored them and this seemed to work. so try tweaking the response time of the keys and then swith it off. and try changing where the cap key is on the keyboard then restore it back to its original. thats what i did and it works fine now. once apple bring an update to allow you to change this i will give 5 stars. but untill then just tinker it may work.

Yes it will. I currently use this wired keyboard along with a wireless trackpad and leave the keyboard connected to one of the USB ports on the back of the Thunderbolt Display. The two USB ports on the keyboard work fine for me when connecting my iPhone/iPad to sync. More

The Function keys will not all work properly on 10.5.8, all the other keys will be fine. The previous model MB110LL/A would work with all the Function keys on Leopard or Snow Leopard. More
