GarageBand Jam Pack: Symphony Orchestra
Full Symphony Orchestra Right At My Fingertips ...

Full Symphony Orchestra Right At My Fingertips (And I'm Only 18!)
WOW!
What an amazing package! I bought it (on Education) for £69.91 on Weds (26.04) eve at 7.00pm, and it arrived 9.15am this morning (28.04). Not just super quick delivery, but super-easy install and out-of-the-box functionality - the Instrument and Performance Guides (on Install DVD 1) are fantastic and that's without playing around with the new features and added orchestra in GarageBand yet! The sounds are fantastic - a definite for GarageBand (compatible with Logic and Soundtrack too), especially for those with inspirations to score for Film (like me).
While composing (notation) for orchestra on Sibelius is fantastic, when you can create a quality recording from the Sibelius file (via MIDI output) in GarageBand, it makes it all the more special, as I can now burn to a CD/listen on my iPod and play my compositions to every one else in startlingly realistic sound (it leaves Kontakt player face-down in the dust...)
Definitely get this if:
- You are remotely interested in composing for something bigger than a 5-piece band,
- Your school/college uses GargeBand to aid teaching/learning,
If you love great musical works, whether it be Classical Mozart or Hollywood-scored John Williams, this is the tool you need to show off your potential as an Orchestral Composer.
Worth every penny.
Another marvelous musical feat from Apple!

GarageBand Jam Pack: Symphony Orchestra
useless
Written by KT from Maidstone

I sincerely wanted this Jam Pack and had hoped it would provide many useful instruments. I had intended to use this Jam Pack on my 7th album but I will not be using at all.
Many of the Instruments are just duplicates with additional effects added to make you think you are getting more for your money. This is common practice on all the Jam Packs. It makes up numbers but does not improve quality. My sincere advice, don't buy it. I would prefer not to rate this at all but the function of these reviews insists on at least 1 star, really it does not deserve even a half. …More106 of 175 people found this useful

GarageBand Jam Pack: Symphony Orchestra
A worthwhile addition
Written by DG from Dartford

Jam Pack 4 is a worthwhile addition to your audio if your looking for quickness of importing orchestral effects to your songs without having to play them yourself in Logic and fiddle with individual midi.
Another way around it is to just buy Logic Pro 8 (Logic Studio) as all Jam Packs 1 to 5 (Jam Pack 1,Remix Tools,Rhythm Section,Symphony Orchestra and World Music) are included in the program so instead of paying £69 per Jam Pack (£345 altogether) you can just buy Logic Studio for £319 with them all included already.
All that said if your simply after this 1 specific Jam Pack then it's well worth the £69 price.

GarageBand Jam Pack: Symphony Orchestra
Live Orchestra on my Mac
Written by IP from Stoke-on-Trent

After reading the other reviews, I was expecting a decent JamPack, but nothing specatular. In fact, the end result is slightly different. The sound quality is absolutley amazing, and especially the Steinway Piano sounds as though you could actually be at a live convert.
The wide range of loops suit many rhythms, and keys and can add great effect to any composition you write.
I'm really enjoying using this JamPack, it really is amazing! …More19 of 27 people found this useful
